Incorporated in 1881, the city of Phoenix ranks as one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation. With more than 300 sun-filled days a year, Phoenix’s luxurious resorts, spas, golf courses , museums, art galleries and world renown Phoenix Zoo can be enjoyed year round.

Many recreational and major-league sports venues are located throughout the Valley. Chase Field and US Airways Center, home to the Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns, is located in Central Phoenix. Less than 30 minutes away, one can see the Phoenix Coyotes play at Jobing.com Arena, a multipurpose venue at the Westgate City Center. Adjacent to Westgate is The University of Phoenix Stadium, home to Superbowl XLII and the 2009 NFC Division Champions, the Arizona Cardinals.

The Arizona State University Sun Devils play at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. Serving more than 76,000 students among its four differentiated campuses, Arizona State University is renowned for its undergrad and graduate schools, research facilities and business programs, making it one of the top institutions for higher education in the United States.

Metropolitan Phoenix is easily connected to cities across the nation and around the world via Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Conveniently located in the heart of the city, Sky Harbor accommodates over 600,000 takeoffs and landings annually, making it one of the best and busiest airports in the world. Also serving the Valley of the Sun are several local airports that include Phoenix Deer Valley Airport to the north, Scottsdale Airport to the northeast, Glendale Municipal and Phoenix Goodyear Airports to the west, and Chandler Municipal Airport to the southeast. Visitors and residents can explore Metropolitan Phoenix via several modes of public transportation, such as local bus routes, commuter buses, neighborhood circulators, Dial-a-Ride (for those with disabilities) or via the METRO Light Rail System. The newly completed Light Rail, with its numerous park-and-ride options, offers a fast and convenient 20-mile, east-west transportation route that stretches between the cities of Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa. Included in its 27 stops are Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, the Convention Center and several downtown hotels. Plans are under way to extend the Light Rail to the west, northwest and northeast areas of the Valley.
