I 'Become an involved citizen. Learn as much as you can about other religions, other countries, other societies, and learn a lot more about your own. Learn about the lives and problems of those who are different from you . ... The best way to feel good about yourself is not to see how much you can get out of life, but to see how much you can put into it. That is life 's true reward, and is just as true for you as a citizen as it is for you as a person."

"Are you ready to face the new millennium, perhaps to use the drama of this date to reevaluate yourself and where you are going, to promise to be a better person? This is an opportunity for all of us to step back and look at ourselves. It's really just another tick of the clock, but it's such a dramatic one. We 're all fortunate to be here and looking forward ... to the wonderful things that are going to happen out there."

UW-Stevens Point ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Alumni Association welcomes our Winter 2002 graduates to the ranks of UWSP alumni. To honor this occasion, members of the Student Alumni Association will present each new alum with the gift of a UWSP key chain. We hope this will serve as a reminder that, no matter where life may lead our graduates, they will always have a home at UWSP.
The Alumni Association serves to strengthen the ties between 55,000 Pointer alumni and their university home. Our alumni are among this university's most important assets and collectively constitute a major force in shaping the reputation of our campus.
The association seeks to help alumni stay in touch with former classmates and friends who have graduated from UWSP to make their mark , professionally and personally, on the nation and the world. The association also provides a variety of services to alumni and friends of UWSP, including the Pointer ALUMNUS newspaper, alumni reunions, homecoming, alumni travel, alumni directories and other special events.
All graduates and anyone who has attended UWSP are automatic, lifetime members of the non-dues paying association. Support for the Alumni Association is provided in part by the UWSP Foundation, by proceeds from alumni endowment and gifts from alumni and friends.
All of our alumni share memories of their years at UWSP, and they in turn have contributed to the success of the campus. We urge you to continue to think of yourself as a vital participant in the future of your alma mater. We always welcome your support, involvement and ideas.
Those interested in learning more about the UWSP Alumni Association and its Board of Directors are encouraged to contact the Alumni Association office at (715) 346-3811 or (877) 764-6801, or by e-mail at [email protected]. The PURPLE AND THE GOLD
Original song written by Kenneth Pray Verse two written by James Arrowood
Other schools of valor boast of victories galore Of laurels never lost, of triumphs by the score
Let them tell you of their prowess, of warriors strong and bold But their colors ever lower
To the Purple and the Gold!
Alma Mater, our Wisconsin, dear Stevens Point we toast Recalling former times of challenge and repose
On the banks of old Wisconsin, alumni glories told We offer our allegiance
To the Purple and the Gold!
