AUGUST CLASSES – Come Learn with Us!
Beginner Knitting! Whether you are just starting or refreshing your skills, this class is for you! Learn all of the knitting basics. Cast on, knit and purl
stitch, cable, basic button hole and bind off to name a few. At the end you will have a fantastic project that will launch your skills
into your next creation! There will be five 2-hour classes.

Beginner Crochet! Our first class was a success with many beautiful color combinations! Now it is your turn.
Whether you are refreshing skills grandma taught you or starting from scratch, this project
was designed to jumpstart your skillset and have you an advanced beginner in no time.

Workshops & Other Classes! Mystery Stitch of the Month! Can you solve the mystery? Come to one or come to all! Learn one new unique stitch a month as you
explore the world of knit and purl and how they can be manipulated to excite you. Future pattern support
will be offered for each current stitch. Experience a different PurL teacher every time…yay!

How to Read a Crochet Chart! In this workshop we will decode the keys (literally!) to reading and understanding charts for
working crochet both flat and in the round. Having the ability to read charts will allow you to
tackle crochet projects from around the globe.

Just Magic Loop! In this two-hour quick workshop, you will learn to do the fantastic magic loop technique. Enhance your circular
knitting skill with this fast, easy way to knit any size diameter project in the round. If you want to learn a wonderful
alternative to using DPN, this is for you! The boot toppers will top off your confidence
and have you ready for socks or hats in a hurry!

Stranding Workshop! Are you enamored with Norwegian color work? Have you tried to knit fair isle, only
to be frustrated with puckering and loose floats? This workshop is for you. Using the
Templetop Cowl pattern you’ll follow a color chart, 2 hand strand (yippee!), learn to
“trap” wool and be ready to tackle the most intricate colorwork patterns.

Mosaic Workshop! What a great way to learn more about changing colors with slip stitches in our fun
mosaic workshop. Chart reading and slipping stitches will keep you knitting the entire
time. This is a fantastic, hands on workshop! You will go home with four swatches and
lots of ideas, ready to roll right into your desired project.

Bead Workshop! Add sparkle and shine to your knitting with beads. Exploring multiple beading

Staghorn Cable Hat! Twisted stitches combined with a classic Staghorn cable makes this unisex hat a signature

Needle Felted Walrus! Have you ever wanted to try needle felting? It is crazy fun! Learn the basics making
this adorable walrus while experimenting with color. This is a hands-on workshop.

Felted Santa! In this class fiber artist Kerstin Katko (aka Ducky from Ducky’s Sheep Shack) will teach you
how to sculpt sheep wool into a Santa Claus decoration. You’ll have choice of skin color and
shape. You can make a tall Father Christmas or a rounder Santa! While felting has been
around for centuries, needle felting is a relatively new craft. It involves using barbed felting
needles to compact and shape wool into sculpture. Once you try it, you’ll be hooked! No
experience is necessary. We will be using sharp needles so a few poked fingers are possible,
but lots of creative fun is inevitable!

Wet Felted Painting! Expand into the world of wet felting! In this two-session class you will learn how to create
a floral felt still-life by painting with wool, exploring proper layering of base fibers, how to
blend colors, layout your design and even add texture. Next, how to wet felt and full your
finished piece. In session two we will focus on detail work by adding outline stitches,
embroidery, beads and needle felting to give the felted pieces their finishing touches. You
will be able to vary the elements of your floral to make it your own one-of-a-kind work
of art. Finished pieces can be framed after drying, sewn or hung on the wall as is. This class
is a great next step to delving into the wonderful creative possibilities in the world of wet felting!

Private Spinning Lessons! Private Lessons are available for beginner spinning and drop spindle. Master Spinner,
Connie Wieczorek, enjoys sharing what she has learned and will tailor the lessons to
your needs and interests. This private setting allows the client that special attention they
may need or prefer. Contact Rows of PurL to set up a time that works with your schedule.
