Our Club will be hosting the 11th Annual MilwaukeeGLSF Brew City Fishing Tournament on Saturday, August13th. This is one of the largest 1 day tournaments on this sideof Lake Michigan. If you’ve never been to one, I urge you tocome out, volunteer and experience some of the excitement.Imagine, 8 hours of fishing for 125 boats resulting in over7000 pounds of fish being weighed in from noon to 3:00 pm.This year, The Sportsman Channel Network has volun-
teered to coordinate the collection of all of the unwanted fishand to share it through a local food pantry. They will be host-ing a very large salmon and trout feed in the near future astheir own activity, using the donated fish from out tourna-ment.We need your help setting up the area for the Friday night
Captain’s Meeting. We will be doing this around 3:00 pmweather permitting. In the past we have had to move-up thisactivity due to impending rain storms. I will use the clubwebsite: http://www.glsfclub.com/ to communicate any lastminute changes. After setting up our tent, tables, chairs and riser platform
we will be pretty much done on Friday except for the Cap-tain’s Meeting at 7:00 pm. Feel free to attend even if you are

not fishing just to experience the building excitement. On Saturday, August 13th, the day of the Tournament, we
will need help starting about 10:00 am. We will have to set-up the chairs and everything that could not be left outovernight. The fishermen will start arriving at the dock any-time after 10:30 am if catching is great. We need help mov-ing the full fish coolers from the McKinley gas dock to theweigh-in area. Weigh-in starts at noon and goes until about3:00 pm. We will announce the winners shortly after that, and we will have the drawings for the 2 raffles that we hold.Around 4:00 pm most of the participants will have left,
and it will be time for us to dismantle our tent, tables andchairs and put them away over in the shed at the Sailing Cen-ter. All help is really appreciated at this activity. With enoughhelp, I promise, you will be home in-time for dinner! This is a large activity that makes a few dollars for our
club, but for the fishing community it is one of the largest 1day tournaments. Your help is needed to make it professionaland to show that our club members like to participate in ourbig activities.See you there,Bob Wincek, [email protected]
