Fundraising and NCAA Amateurism Rules

Q: If my parents and I raise funds to cover the cost of activities with my amateur sports club, may the entire amount of money we raise go toward my personal account?A: No, money raised by a prospect and his or her relatives may not be earmarked for use by that prospect only. Doing so would jeopardize the prospect’s amateur status. All money raised by a prospect and any individual associated with that student-athlete must be contributed to the local sports club’s general account to be used by all members of the team. The club, at its discretion, can decide where to spend those funds.
