Who is a Research Nurse?• a nurse who participates in research, usually clinical

studies, with a degree of participation ranging from

i. coordinating and administering studies on behalf of their designers

ii. to organizing and running studies independently.

• May have a post Bachelors training, master's (or doctoral degree) in nursing,

• some nursing schools specifically offer research nursing as a specialty, along with years of experiencing in the nursing community

Roles of a Research Nurse?

Research Support Centre (RSC) 1. Housed under the office of Postgraduate Studies and Research at

University of Malawi, College of Medicine.2. Established in 2006 with the aim of promoting research by providing

comprehensive research support services to CoM faculty members and students as well as research affiliates and collaborators in:

i. grant writingii. study designiii. clinical trial monitoringiv. data management v. GCP training vi. grant management.
