Height: 50-60’ Width: 10’-15’ Leaves: 2-6’’ long obovate, rounded lobes, dark green above, pale bluish green beneath Bark: Deeply furrowed, grayish black Fruit: acorn nut 1 to 2’ long one or several on a peduncle Habitat: Prefers good, well-drained soil. Tolerant of a range pH. Plant in full sun. Fun Facts: This is a beautiful tree that should be more widely grown and used. A nice example of this tree in Wilmington can be seen at 1144 Beech Street.
