colour Vision sensors:More options by detecting large colour areas, with long scanning distances. applications.

applications solved easily with large fields of vision mean less effort for object guidance, easier assembly and commissioning.

Detecting a large colour area — up to 100 x 115 mm2 — minimises the need for very accurate object guid-ance and thus simplifies assembly and commissioning.

Moreover, the pixel sum evaluation method used, places fewer demands on the object surface, as the colours need not be homogeneously distri-buted in the field of view.

Long scanning distances — 270 mm — with great depth of field offer even more possibilities.

Pixel sum evaluation

The sensor counts the pixels of the taught-in colour(s) in the field of view and compares the result with the number of pixels taught in.

Seven initial parameter sets allow fast setup of many different identification tasks. Each parameter can be slightly edited if adjustments are necessary. Where necessary, these adjustments may also be made after initial set up of the CVS2. The CVS2 provides memory capacity for up to 15 colours, which are selectable via external signals, making it ideal for fast product change-overs.

The colour display supports optimum sensor alignment for setup and Teach-in. The continuously updated measured values are also shown to ensure that all critical parameters always remain in view. If the Colour Vision Sensor has to be mounted in a position which is difficult to view, a separate external operating device with its own colour display and keypad can be used.

With its robust and compact plastic housing and plastic front screen, the Colour Vision Sensor can also be used in food production areas, or where glass breakage must be avoided. The IP 67 enclosure rating also makes it particularly suitable for harsh industrial environments.

Sunglasses with fashionable colours: The CVS1 Easy looks at this and signals whether the frame has the right colour.

The CVS2 ensures that brake pads of different qualities are sorted correctly.

The label is on — but is it the right one and does it match the bottle contents? The CVS2 detects by using the colours, whether or not the labelling is correct.
