Colors of the Rainbow
I like to remember the colors of the rainbow by thinking of the name, ROY G BIV!

This is a great mnemonic device for anyone to remember the colors of the rainbow! I saw this advertised on the news when I was younger, I believe it was actually the weather man.

The Rainbow Fish
If you have a group of young children that is ready to learn about rainbows a great book to start off a wonderful art project with is “The Rainbow Fish”.
-You can find the book at your local book store, Target, or Walmart!
-Lets get started with the art project!! What you need:
• A medium sized outline of a fish.
• Paint; silver and an array of other fun colors.
• Containers to keep the paint in.
• Paint smocks for the children.• Writing utensil to write their
names on their artwork.
Enjoy sticking your thumbs in the paint and making the scales! It will turn out beautiful when its done! This would make a bright bulletin board!

Rainbow Fruits The Rainbow Song
This is a song that I taught my
children to remember the
colors of the rainbow!
“We are the colors of the
Rainbow; Red, Orange, Yellow,
Green, Blue, and Purple!”
This is a rainbow song that my
friend introduced to me at
work. We thought it was
interesting that the orders were
different.
“Red and Orange and Green
and Blue, shiny Yellow, Purple
too!”
Red – is for apple, cherry, watermelon, strawberry, and raspberry.
Orange – is for orange and cantaloupe.
Yellow - is for banana, pineapple, and lemon.
Green – is for lime, kiwi, and green grapes.
Blue – is for blueberry.
Purple – is for boysenberry, blackberry, and red grapes.
Rainbow Tie-Dye
Simple Tie-dye instructions:
1) Pick your item to tie-dye and wash
it before you start.
2) Prepare your dye as instructed on
the package.
3) Rubber band your item as desired.
4) Start dyeing!
5) Wash alone in cold water.
6) May need to soak in vinegar to set
the color.
*Using a lot of different colors is fun,
but just be careful that your colors
don’t bleed together too much! If you
keep colors that go well together they
will blend better. For instance only
using “cool” colors or “warm” colors
together! Have fun!!
