4 Changes

4.1 General

Bugfixes

• On some drivers modified margins reset to default after the dialog box was closed and re-opened since

7.20.

• If the preview resolution was increased to 2200 pixels, larger amounts of jobs could not be handled in the

user interface.

• After changing from a hybrid to a stand-alone cutter on the Cutting tab, the Option "Create cub job when

printing" was shown activated, but was not correctly applied to the job properties, so that no cut job was

created.

• Lab image files were ripped with wrong rendering intents. Normally they should get the rendering intent

which was selected for RGB.

• When the distance of multicopies in the hotfolder was using a comma, the software froze.

• Cancelling print jobs did not work properly on certain printers.

• "Store to new MIM..." did not work properly when the selected job used embedded profiles.

• DeltaE type could not be switched in color replacement dialog since 7.20 Build 4667.

• Creating a new color table from the hotfolder properties did not work properly.

• Moving a job to the Rip queue always changed the preview back to the "Document Preview".

• The default replacement values for the color picker were changed back to 0% like in 7.11.

• The keyboard shortcut "CTRL+P" created a corrupted duplicate of the job under certain conditions.

• "Size to Fit" was available when "Scale 1:1" was enabled.

• Selecting “Roll - 13 Inch” was not correctly applied to the Printer tab.


Improvements

• Better support of uncommon roll widths when the width is read from the printer.

4.2 File Processing

• "User Units" in certain PDFs was interpreted in a wrong way, so that wrong dimensions were used.

APPE (Adobe PDF Print Engine)

• Files with .PDF extension (PDF in capital letters) could not be processed.

• An error message is now shown in the InfoLog when the necessary "Edit" permission is missing in the PDF

file.

• Color replacement with Lab did not work properly if no output profile was used.

• The Color Picker replacement did not work in Multicolor modes (like CMYKOG).

• Certain separated PDF files were not color managed correctly.

Jaws

• Transparencies were not handled correctly in Multicolor modes like CMYKOG in 7.20.

• Since 7.00 cut paths could not be read from PostScript files.

• Spot color replacement with Lab values did not work properly when ICC v4 profiles were used.


4.3 Printer Related

Bugfixes

• Acuity Advance Select series:

• Quality Density mode used the wrong droplet amount for cost calculation.

• Color Optimizer, PDF FLAT HIGH-RES / LOW-RES, HP Indigo PDF:

• If an output PDF exceeded 4GB, Acrobat showed a warning message that the file is corrupted (but it

still could be processed).

• "CTS Tiff"

• "CTS Tiff" was renamed to "CTS / CTP Tiff".

• DYSS Apollo GF2616-16SRWRV, DYSS Apollo GF2616-16SMWFV, DYSS Apollo GH2200-16SMWFV:

• The output was stretched because sending layers in a specific order is not supported by the DFE.

• Epson SureColor SC-F60X0 Series, Epson SureColor SC-F70X0 Series:

• The printer could not be used in 7.20 Build 4667.

• Epson SureColor SC-S506X0 Series:

• The "[Reverse] One pass layer print" print mode did not work properly.

• Epson SureColor SC-S506X0/SC-S706X0 Series:

• Value "1" for disabling the heater was not accepted by the user interface.

• Epson SureColor SC-T3000, Epson SureColor SC-T5000, Epson SureColor SC-T7000:

• Feed Adjustment did not work properly.

• Gemini:

• The droplet separation was not done correctly for "Density" values below 2.

• HT2500UV-P / HT2512UV-R:

• Output looked blurred and the 2-bit option was not applied.


• HP-DesignJet-130:

• After the job was output, no auto feeding was done.

• HP-DesignJet-L28500:

• Under certain conditions the wrong print speed was read from the printer.

• HP-DesignJet-T2300:

• Jobs could not be printed when the printer was in standby mode.

• Industrial Inkjet:

• Thumbnail creation prevented sometimes the output.

• KIP Color 7800:

• The driver was moved from Cat 1 to Cat 2.

• Mimaki CJV30:

• Cutting did not work in 7.20 Build 4667.

• Mimaki JV400LX:

• Some print mode and wave combinations produced an error message on the printer.

• Mimaki UJF-3042, Mimaki UJF-3042HG, Mimaki UJF-3042FX:

• The panel settings for the UV lamps were always used. Old MIMs now print with "UV lamps off" so if

the behavior is intended, they have to be manually changed to panel.

• Mutoh ValueJet-1624W, Mutoh ValueJet-1638W:

• Printer monitor support only did work for machines that can use the SpectroVue, so it was removed

for these two models.

• Mutoh ValueJet-1638:

• Selecting "Middle" dot size and/or variable print modes stretched the output.

• Roland VS-series:

• Head speed value in certain MIMs defaulted back to a too high number that produced an error mes-

sage on the printer.


• Roland XR-640:

• The output was cropped by a few pixels.

• Scitex GrandJet - XLjet:

• default width corrected to 1500mm

• The handling of changes to "special color" options was improved, so that custom print modes are no

longer altered.

Improvements

• Acuity LED 1600:

• User defined layering dialog was removed and all available modes are now only available in the

dropdown menu to prevent incompatible settings.

• CTS / CTP Tiff:

• The "Roll" option is now deactivated by default for the media feed.

• Epson SureColor SC-B/F Series:

• Ink levels were removed from the printer monitor because the printer only reports when the ink is

low.

• Epson SureColor SC-F, SC-S, SC-T Series:

• A function to execute a head cleaning before printing was added.

• Epson SureColor SC-S506X0 Series / SC-S706X0 Series:

• Print mode names now show whether metallic and/or white ink is supported.

• Epson SureColor SC-S706X0 Series:

• The One-Pass-Layer mode no longer shows the layering dialog an only the possible variants are of-

fered.

• Epson SureColor SC-T3000, Epson SureColor SC-T5000, Epson SureColor SC-T7000:

• Cost Calculation is now supported in CCM for these printers.

• GCC Stellarjet Series:

• The handling of the Device White replacement settings was improved.


• HP Indigo PDF:

• Additional output resolutions were added.

• HP Indigo PDF:

• The file output was improved to increase the compatibility with the Indigo software.

• Industrial InkJet:

• A Function was added to distribute 4bit data to 8bit data.

• KIP Color 7800:

• New functions of the upcoming firmware were added:

• "Remove white borders" is now supported. If enabled the printer is able to detect white bor-

ders in the printed document, and removes them to save media.

• Job ticket names now always have at the most 8 characters.

• The MAC address is now acquired from the printer which is required to wake it up later from

deep sleep mode before printing.

• Mimaki JV400LX

• new color mode CMYKOG

• color mode CMYKLCLM is no longer supported and was removed

• the available resolutions, wave shapes and white support are changed depending on the installed ink

set

• layering setting 'White&CMYK' removed, because it is not supported

• layering setting 'User defined' removed, because there is no possibility to set the layering at the

printer panel

• Mimaki UJF-3042, UJF-3042FX, UJF-3042HG, JFX-500:

• "Reverse Mode" added that allows W1&W2->C in one print run.

• Mimaki UJF3042, Mimaki UJF3042FX, Mimaki UJF3042HG:

• Layering options were improved to prevent misconfigurations.

• Onset S40:

• The color mode CMYKLCLM was added.


• Oryx (Revised), Impala, Nyala:

• New resolutions were added:

• 1080 x 720 FA

• 900 x 1080 FA high dense

• Roland LEC-540 & Roland LEJ-640:

• Available print modes were revised following the specifications by Roland.

4.4 Linearization and Profiling Assistant

• When printing targets, the job info options (e.g. mirroring) from the first hotfolder are now applied to the

info line of the targets.

• The default inklimit was correctly set if a linearization target without transfer channels was used.

• Inklimit target was not available for the color mode CMYKLCLMO.

4.5 Measurement Devices

• The transfer of measurement data still took too long in 7.20 Build 4667.

4.6 Media Device Synchronization MDS

• When the MDS target in RGB mode is measured, "Please measure: Profile Line A" is always shown when using

the EyeOne.

4.7 Express Profiler Module EPFM

• Media Device Synchronization did not work with MIMs created in Express Profiler.

• Since 7.20 Build 4667 the new linearization was not automatically applied after profile creation to the MIM

combination.


4.8 Inksaver

• When ink saving was activated, Multicolor jobs could not be ripped.

4.9 Proofgate Module PGM

• In Proof workflow Lab color replacement with enabled "Max Gamut" option got wrong colors in RGB color

mode.

• DeviceLink Exceptions are now also available in the Proof workflow.

• When using an Xrite i1Pro2 device, the measurement condition was not reported correctly in the control

wedge evaluation.

4.10 TVI Calibration Module TVICM

• An error message was shown when the assistant was closed without a completed measurement.

• Infotext is now printed by default.

4.11 Print and Cut Module PCM

• Registration marks were shifted and cut data mirrored in containers.

• Synchronization marks were not placed correctly around container copies.

• The preview of cut paths was not available for hybrid devices if the Print & Cut Module was not available.

• When synchronization marks have been activated, the output length of the container was not correctly

calculated. As a consequence, a blank area was output behind the end of the container. In certain cases

some artifacts in the area used for the synch marks were printed.

4.12 Plategate Module PLGM

• "Offset relative to edge of the media" did not center multipage PDFs correctly.


4.13 Filmgate Module FGM

• Spot color planes with a trailing blank space in the name could not be selected to print separately.

• Dot shape option disappeared on systems with the classic Windows design when changing the raster

method.

• If the ink reduction curves caused the intensity to rise above 100%, jobs could not be ripped anymore with

these.
