The Hampton University Skin of Color Research Institute (HUSCRI) From Bench to Bedside: 2015 Skin of Color Symposium is designed to disseminate and communicate the latest research on skin conditions that disproportionately impact minority populations. HUSCRI is pleased to host the fourth event in a series of biennial symposia, in partnership with the Department of Dermatology at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
We have assembled an outstanding roster of speakers for this year’s event who, through a series of plenary sessions and interactive panel discussions, will address the latest research and clinical developments in the diagnosis and management of selected conditions, including:
The meeting will also feature a grant-writing workshop geared specifically towards junior investigators and individuals from groups underrepresented in the biomedical sciences.

TARGET AUDIENCEThis conference is designed for dermatologists, plastic surgeons, primary care physicians, physician assistants, residents, students and professionals with an interest in skin research in skin of color.
COURSE OBJECTIVESIdentify, diagnose and treat rare or serious dermatological disorders that most commonly occur in skin of color.
Translate research about dermatological diseases that are most commonly seen in skin of color and apply those findings to clinical practice.
CREDIT DESIGNATIONEastern Virginia Medical School designates this live activity for a maximum of 10.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
