ASSEMBLE IN GOD’S NAME

Silent Prayer Awesome God, your creative power, your glory and holiness are beyond our imagining, yet, you chose to reveal yourself in the person of Jesus Christ, who graciously showed us the

human face of your love. He stretched our imaginations once more over the lengths he was prepared go to demonstrate the depth of your love for us. And, as if that was not enough, you breathe new and everlasting life into our very beings, through the power of your Spirit. Triune God, Source of

our lives, we worship and adore you . Amen

Call to Worship Leader: Does not wisdom call, and does not understanding raise her voice? People: On the heights, beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand; Leader: beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries out: People: To you, O people, I call, and my cry is to all that live. *Hymn - “Here in This Place” GTG #401 tune - Gather Us In

*Prayer of Confession (Unison) Your ways are not our ways, O Lord, nor our ways yours, so we should not presume to understand that you the Creator, could have come in the flesh for us. Give us the humility to accept what we, unaided, cannot easily grasp. We admit that we are tempted to look upon Jesus as a mere teacher of ethics. We have not yet accepted that when he walked among our fore bearers in faith, that he was us in the flesh. We fail to notice your spirits leading. We mistake our own enthusiasm for the sprits work. Purify our thinking so that your full power may be the transforming energy of our lives. We ask this through Jesus’ name. Amen *Words of Assurance *Congregational Response - STF #2193 (sing twice) Lord, listen to your children praying, Lord, send your Spirit in this place; Lord, listen to your children praying, send us love, send us power, send us grace. *Sharing of the Peace of Christ

purposes for the earth and its people.”

All: Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

THANK YOU REV. DAVID CASSIE

The Rev. David G. Cassie is the former Executive Presbyter of the Presbytery of West Jersey (PCUSA). He and his wife, Dhyan, an Audiologist, were mis-sionaries in Honduras and Mexico. In México they were involved in Church Planting with the Presbyterian Border Ministry. They also served in Hondu-ras with the Christian Commission for Development (CCD: La Comisión Cristi-ana de Desarrollo), where Dave taught rural and urban pastors in CCD’s theo-logical extension program, while Dhyan worked in CCD’s Health Division, training rural health workers in the prevention of hearing disorders. Dave has had a long relationship with the Presbyterian and Reformed Church of Cuba and was part of a Presbyterian Board of Pensions team that went there to do research to identify Presbyterians whose Pensions had been em-bargoed by the US Government. He is presently helping the Cuban Presbyter-ian Church preserve its historical documents. Dave was part of the West Jer-sey Presbytery team sent to Cuba to install two water purification plants. Dave is committed to the transformation of persons and congregations through local and international mission outreach.
