From ballroom to ballet to jazz, she enjoys expressing herself through different styles of movement. She welcomes the challenge each technique offers, both mentally and physically. [email protected] LINNEA HAGLER Linnea began dancing at Collin two years ago, but first discovered Collin through the Summer Dance Festival a couple of years before that. Her favorite class thus far was Meghan Cardwell-Wilson’s Jazz I a few years ago. She really discovered how to challenge herself as a dancer and person in that class. [email protected]

The Collin College Dance Department will host the American College Dance Association South-Central Conference, March 2-6, 2017, at the Spring Creek Campus. Collin College will be the first two-year institution in our region to host this conference. The Dance Department is proud of the dance facilities, the dance program, and the College as a whole, and we are eager to share our community with members of the American College Dance Association. In March 2017, 400 college and university dancers and faculty will convene at Collin College for five days of master classes, adjudicated concerts, feedback sessions, and an informal concert. Each ACDA conference is a breeding ground for networking, student development, professional development, and transfer opportunities. The American College Dance Association began in 1973 with the intent to “support and affirm dance in higher education through regional conferences, the adjudication process, and national festivals” (www.acda.dance). ACDA is a non-profit organization interested in diversity and scholarly research, and the Collin College Dance Department has committed to host this conference to support these endeavors. We are unique in our ability to do so, for many two year programs do not have the facilities or resources available to host an event of this magnitude.
