This faculty resource guide presents our faculty at the Koç University College of Business Administration and Economics. In the College of Business Administration and Economics, our mission is to produce well-rounded and competent graduates by providing a world-class education that will prepare them for a globalizing world, to advance the frontiers of knowledge, and to use this knowledge to contribute to the intellectual, economical, political, and socioeconomic developments in our sphere of influence. All of our faculty members joined our College to realize this mission. In a short period since the foundation of the University in 1993, our faculty have been the main force that moved Koç University closer to its vision of achieving international recognition with its teaching and research programs and made this institution a model in Turkey.

Professor Şan Akça teaches interstate rivalry, non-state violence, quantitative methods, research methods, and ethnic conflict. Her current research interests are terrorism and state support for non-state violence, the Middle East conflict, and the relationship between ethnic, religious, and political identity and inter-state relations.

Professor Sayın currently teaches management information systems and optimization. Her main research stream has been on developing methodologies for solving multiple objective optimization problems. Her recent research emphasizes knowledge discovery in different decision making settings and focuses on both the theory and practice of data mining. One of her recent domains of interest is the security of infortmation systems. Professor Yalçın teaches financial management, derivative
securities and portfolio management. His recent research
focuses on the areas of empirical asset pricing, empirical
aspects of financial economics, stock market anomalies and
market efficiency.
