We are tax-assisted, not tax-supported.Funding from the state has consistently decreased over theyears. We depend on private support to maintain – andgrow – the depth and breadth of education we provide.

The Foundation’s role is to seek out community partners –individuals, foundations and area businesses – whounderstand the value and contributions of a college of thisscope and purpose.

When you provide scholarships to deservingstudents, you are forever altering their future. Itmay be one of the most rewarding things you doin your life. You can either name a scholarship ormake a contribution to the general scholarshipfund.

What gives your contribution greater impact isthat the state of Florida provides 100 percentdirect matching of privately raised contributionswhen funding is available. For more information,contact the Scholarship Manager at 561-868-3450.

Annual ScholarshipsThese are distributed to students during the same academicyear that they are funded, so your dollars are immediatelyapplied to education. Annual contributions over a five-yearcommitment is all it takes to establish a named scholarship inyour or someone else’s honor.

Endowed ScholarshipsThis is a long-term scholarship plan in which your contributionis invested. The interest, earnings and dividends are then usedto fund scholarships. To insure longevity, a specific contributionis required to establish this type of scholarship. This type ofnamed scholarship recognition is provided in perpetuity.

Some of the most important gifts to thePalm Beach State College Foundation havebeen planned years in advance and contributedposthumously. Some donors choose to make theFoundation a beneficiary in their will. Othershave established special trusts/annuities that offerconsiderable tax advantages while the donor isstill living.

When you choose to make such an importantcontribution, the Foundation works with you toensure your wishes are fulfilled.

There are several different ways you can use Planned Giving to support thePalm Beach State College Foundation while also meeting your needs and achievingmaximum charitable tax deductions.
