Dear Members and College Football Friends:

We are proud to share with you the 2010 ballot, which

includes photos of some of the 2009 honorees. Hopefully, you

will enjoy looking at the photos while they also serve as a

poignant reminder that the Class of 2010 will truly be joining

college football’s greatest legends.

The centerpiece of the National Football Foundation’s efforts

to promote our great game and inspire future generations to greatness, the College

Football Hall of Fame represents the pinnacle of achievement in our sport. Of the 4.72

million who have played college football since the first game on Nov. 6, 1869, only 866

players and 186 coaches have earned the right to be immortalized in our sport’s ultimate

shrine. Selecting the greatest players and coaches in the history of the game for induction

into the Hall of Fame is an awesome responsibility, and your vote plays an important role.

Members often tell us about their passion in voting, and we are pleased to share with you

this unique member benefit.

Please cast your vote by March 31, and we look forward to sharing the results with you.

Thank you for taking part in this very special tradition and helping us build leaders

through football.

Kind regards,

Archie Manning

WHAT IT TAKES: The Criteria for Hall of Fame Consideration

Ever since the inaugural College Football Hall of Fame class in 1951, theNational Football Foundation has joined forces with college and universitiesaround the country to orchestrate memorable NFF On-Campus Salutes for theHall of Famers during their year of induction, allowing the inductees to returnto their school and accept the adulation of their fans.

Many inductees count the experience as one of their most cherishedmoments, savoring what it means to hear the roar of the crowd one more time.

At the event, the NFF presents a commemorative plaque to the institution dur-ing one of its home football games for permanent display in the school’s athlet-ics facilities, and many schools invite the inductee’s teammates and families toreturn to participate in special banquets, receptions, and other events to cele-brate the occasion. The NFF recently expanded the tradition to include its majoraward honorees. Included on these pages are a few photo highlights from the2009 On-Campus Salutes.
