Holy Mary Institute of Technology& Science is the brain child of the clairvoyant Sri. Arimanda Vara Prasad Reddy. It is one of the best engineering colleges for aspiring engineering students. HITS is spreaded over with green campus of 100 Acres with a single minded aim to provide a perfect platform to students in the field of engineering, Technology for their academic and overall personality development.
The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is affiliated to JNT University, Hyderabad. HITS is offering UG & PG courses in CIVIL, ECE, EEE, CSE and MECH.

· To educate graduates in the basic principles underlying the field of Electronics & Communication Engineering and train our students to think independently in terms to master systematic approach to problem solving and to have a keen awareness of the role of engineering in the modern society.
To prepare the students for entry into successful employment as Electronics & Communication engineers in service, consulting, and/or government organizations or for advanced study at leading graduate schools in engineering, business, management, or other technical or non-technical fields.

Guest Lecture on Basic Industry Requirements :
A one day guest lecture was organized on 8th Jan 2016 at Hits seminar hall on
“Optical fibre communication”. The guest lecture was given by Mr. Sadashivappa For the
4th year ECE student.
The resource person, Mr.A.Sadashivappa in his lecture has explained the
importance of the Optical Fibre Ground Wire and how it differs from other optical ground
wires. He focussed mainly on different materials used for optical fibres, manufacturing
process, current technologies, upcoming technologies and cost effectiveness. Further, he
informed the students that there is a wide scope to take up research work in this area.
A Guest Lecture on “Awareness Program on GATE & PSUS” was conducted for
B.Tech III yr II Sem ECE students on 30 December 2015 by Mr.Rohit Kolukarni Faculty, Time

It was conducted in Seminar Hall of HITS-COE from 10.30am to 12.50pm. Topics delivered
in the seminar are about GATE
Raduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination being
conducted and administered by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes
of Technology. It is conducted by the National Coordination Board GATE, Department of
Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
A Seminar on “Basic Industry Requirements” was conducted for B.Tech III yr I Sem & II
yr I Sem ECE students on 29Feb 2016 by Mr. B.Rajeshwar, Manager, Imagination Technologies,
Hyderabad.
It was conducted in Class room of HITS-COE from 01.30am to 02.30pm. Topics
delivered in the seminar are Industry Standards Projects dealing by different Electronics

Women’s Day Celebrations : As per the culture of Holy Mary Institute of Technology & Science, every academic
year the Institution organizes a grand celebration on International Women's Day as a token of
respect, appreciation and love towards the women. This year also the Institution has
celebrated “International Women's Day” on 10th March 2016 inside the college premises of
Holy Mary Institute of Technology and Science. The celebration started with a devotional song
from the students and lighting of the lamps by the respected Chairpersons which was followed
by the Inspirational speech from respected Secretary Smt. Arimanda Vijaya Sarada Reddy ,Vice
Chairman Siddharth R Arimanda and Principal .The celebration was followed by Cultural
dances, Western dances, Solo songs , and many more by the students. The full participation
and enthusiasm from the students had a great impact on the success of the celebration.
As a token of appreciation the student were awarded with prizes for the competitions like
Musical Chairs, Antakshari, 4 minutes dance, Song, Dumb Charade and many more which was
held on one day before the celebration i.e. on 9th March 2016 inside the college campus under
the supervision of the Lady Faculties from all the Departments. The celebration was a big
success due to the full coordination from the Management, Faculties as well as the Students.

Workshop was conducted from18-01-16 to 20-01-16 at IT workshop in HITS campus for second
year students. The resource person Ms Sravanthi, and Ms Yashaswi gave brief introduction on
Microsoft office and assigned some assignment work to the students and they responded with
great enthusiasm.
Workshop on core java was conducted for the final year students from 18-01-16 to
23-01-16 at IT workshop lab.
The resource person Mr. Ram Kumar handled this session successfully, by his
excelled knowledge on core java, students got cleared all basic concepts corresponding to
core java.
Workshop was conducted from 12-02-16 to 14-02-16 for final year students at java programming lab. The
resource person
Mr. Ram Kumar delivered the details contents on java programming with some real time examples.
The workshop was conducted on 11th and 12th December 2015 in Seminar hall at HITS campus and the

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2004. It has intake capacity of 120 students. All the
laboratories are well established with state of the art equipment. The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty and
technical staff. An innovative teaching and learning process is implemented in imparting quality education to the students which includes
conduct of workshops, seminars, industrial tours, expert lectures and various extracurricular activities.
