ONE-POINT PERSPECTIVE FINAL PROJECT (right)

The One-Point perspective final project (pictured right) was an assignment in which we were instructed to produce a one-point perspective of an interior space that we designed using inspiration from outside media such as magazines, pictures, etc.

STILL LIFE PROJECT (left )

Exploring still life. We were instructed to choose items that spoke to us and construct our own still life and then draw what we saw.

SALVADOR’S DELI SKITTLES RENDITION Taste The Rainbow

This project was the first project completed in this class. It was done for the Salvador’s Deli art competition, held at the Birmingham Art Museum. It is a simple relief sculpture of a Skittle and was meant to portray the intense burst of flavor you receive from each of the five colors of the delectable candies.

RELIEF SCULPTURE Hanging Lines

This is a relief sculpture done while exploring the different concepts of design that make up art such as line, repetition and balance. This project was done primarily to convey two of these concepts, line and repetition. The project has two parts and are meant to be hung side by side together on a wall.

SCULPTURE PROJECT Active Earth

This sculpture is a rendition of a globe with realistic properties alluding to an earth that looks quite active. It shows some of Earth’s most breathtaking geological process and features such as mountains and erupting volcanoes, making the sculpture truly look like it is an active, living thing.

FOUND ART Dystopian Waves

Dystopian Waves was a project done during class while exploring the many aspects associated with the style of Found Art. All pieces in the sculpture were pieces of material found on different parts of Samford’s Campus. I wanted the piece to look rugged and beat up, almost as if it were some found artifact blown off of something during a fierce battle.

CARVING SPACE FROM A BOX (SPECIAL OBJECT: ATO PIN) (right & middle picture )

The objective of this project was to create a space, cut from a 12 x 12 cube that would house an object significant to a special time or memory. We needed to use the things we were learning about space progression and incorporate them in the project in some way. My inspiration came Egyptian temple motifs.

PAVILION PROJECT (left picture)

This pavilion was created to represent the architectural principal of Hierarchy, that i tried to represent through the use of vertical columns that increase in size and angle from the front of the pavilion toward the back, i also tried to incorporate that concept in the platforms used as steps on the inside as they vary slightly in size and color The original concept of the pavilion was based off of the body’s biological process of clotting blood. The mesh-like material on the top of the pavilion is meant to portray fibrin, a microfillament the body produces to help stop bleeding when we receive a small cut or laceration.

FORT LAUDY DAUDY POSTER (left picture)

The poster was created to portray the spirit of my graphic on the right. By pulling in the overall concept of the bubble-like atmosphere of my hometown but i also wanted to portray the vibrancy and culture of the city as well.

THE BUBBLE (right picture)

Graphic representing the how both Samford and my hometown of Fort Lauderdale have become synonymous in the fact that one slowly becoming more and more like home to me, and in the fact that both have a bubble-like and enclosed atmosphere.
