Reda Amalou est un architecte et designer français. Avec AW2, l’agence d’architecture qu’il a fondé il y a plus de 20 ans, Reda Amalou a toujours choisi de concevoir l'architecture dans sa globalité. Venu au design par évidence, c'est donc très naturellement, qu'il crée en 2013 sa propre maison de design de meubles et objets REDA AMALOU DESIGN.
Issu d’une double culture, il fait ses études d’architecture à Londres. Les voyages l’ont toujours nourri, par leur richesse, mais aussi par leur capacité à l’étonner à chaque fois. Son travail reflète les influences culturelles rencontrées au fil de ses voyages. Le dessin mêle les sources d’inspiration et les formes pour parvenir à une forme d’évidence. Reda Amalou cherche l’évocation directe, presque intuitive, tout en préservant l’intégrité de l’idée.
Les collections sont un parfait écho au travail architectural de Reda Amalou. Inspiré par l'esthétisme du XX ème siècle, il dessine chaque pièce dans un souci d'équilibre entre élégance, sobriété, et identité. Les matières choisies sont riches, texturées ou vivantes telles que le cuir, le bronze, le verre, les bois ou la coquille d’œuf.
Au delà de la collection principale, certaines pièces d’exception sont réalisées avec des artisans d’art. Elles sont réunies au sein de la Collection Galerie en éditions limitées de 8 exemplaires signés et 4 épreuves d’artiste.
Reda Amalou collabore aussi avec de nombreuses maisons de luxe et de design telles que Véronèse, Baguès Paris, Hugues Chevalier, Roche Bobois avec lesquelles il signe régulièrement des pièces et des collections uniques.
Reda Amalou is a french designer and architect. With AW2, the architecture agency he founded over 20 years ago, Reda Amalou has always chosen to approach architecture as a total design experience. His passion for design had always existed alongside architecture, and as such it was a natural move when in 2013, he created his own furniture and accessories brand, REDA AMALOU DESIGN.
Coming from both a French and Algerian culture, Reda went on to study architecture in London. Travel has always been a fundamental inspiration for him, both through its diversity and its ability to surprise every time.
His work reflects the array of cultural influences, he has discovered during his travels. His design mixes sources of inspiration and forms to find the most direct and intuitive evocation whilst preserving the integrity of the initial idea.
The collections are a perfect echo of Reda Amalou’s architectural work. Inspired by the aesthetic sensibilities of the 20th century, he designs each piece with a combination of elegance, sobriety and identity. The materials he uses are rich, textured and vibrant, such as leather, bronze, glass, wood and eggshell.
Beyond the main collection, some exceptional pieces are made with specialised craftsmen. They form part of the Collection Gallery in limited editions of 8 signed copies and 4 artist proofs.
Reda Amalou also collaborates with a number of luxury design brands such as Véronèse, Baguès Paris, Hugues Chevalier, Toulemonde Bochart and Roche Bobois, with whom he regularly creates pieces or unique collections.
