The Uconnect 3 multimedia centre — with a 5-inch touchscreen, Integrated Voice Command2 with Bluetooth® for streaming audio — is standard on all models. The available SiriusXM satellite radio3 gives you music, talk, sports, weather and traffic stations with a one-year subscription.

Superior sound options are generated either by the standard 6-speaker audio system or the available BeatsAudioTM Premium Sound System, which features an 8-channel, 368-watt amplifier with BeatsAudio Digital Sound Processing (DSP), 1-inch tweeters in the A-pillars, two 6.5-inch woofers located in the doors and two 3.5-inch speakers in the rear quarter, and an 8-inch Dual-Voice Coil (DVC) subwoofer mounted in the trunk.

500 Abarth® has the 1.4L 16V MultiAir Turbo, engineered to kick out 160 or 157 horsepower (along with 170 lb-ft or 183 lb-ft of torque) when mated with a manual or automatic transmission, respectively.

The genius within

Every FIAT 500X comes equipped with the don’t-think-twice-about-it conf idence of All-Wheel Drive (AWD). This technologically advanced standard feature arms 500X drivers with an innovative drive system that brings unique functionality and improvements over conventional AWD systems. It works through a variable wet clutch located in the rear drive module. This clutch supplies the right amount of torque for whatever the weather, road or driver throws at it … be it slippery conditions or an aggressive launch.

You could say it’s a no-brainer; this is a system that requires no input from the driver when in Auto mode — all actions (including the AWD activation) are intelligently and seamlessly engaged based on conditions and driving style. While the system boasts leading traction management advances, it also works with the Electronic Stability Control (ESC)1 system to improve dynamic handling.

FIAT 500X knows when to fully engage its AWD; its secret is a disconnecting rear axle that automatically selects Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) or AWD based on various input when in Auto mode. It completely removes power to the rear axle when FWD performance is adequate during regular driving conditions.

AUTO MODE is designed for the everyday, routine stuff — it will smooth things out to help optimize fuel eff iciency, emissions and comfort.

For those who’d prefer a little more road feel, a little more control, there’s SPORT MODE. With it, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC)1 and steering calibrations are tuned for a sportier feel and faster driving response. Additionally, SPORT MODE optimizes the transmission shift points for improved performance and accelerator feedback.

TRACTION+ MODE maximizes low-speed traction — the kind you need when things get a little slick or bumpy. It all works by providing additional wheel-slip through specially tuned chassis controls and a more direct engine response.
