1. Is membersHIP TrAnsferAbLe?

Yes, the transfer of membership is allowed and there shall be a transfer fee of US$10,000 payable by the member upon transfer of membership. If the transferring Member fails to pay such transfer fee, the intended transferee shall not be admitted as a Member of the Club. Memberships which are transferred to an *Immediate Family Member will not be subjected to a transfer fee but an administrative fee of US$500 shall be payable.

*Immediate Family Member refers to spouse and minors, unmarried children of a married member and in the case of an unmarried member; it shall mean the member’s parents and siblings.

2. AsseT-bAcked

As membership is asset-backed, true asset protection is ensured. The Club is insulated from any business or financial risks affecting the Banyan Tree Group, because the assets are held by an independent company, whose shares are held by trustee shareholders.

3. PerPeTUITY And TrAnsferAbILITY

Membership is perpetual and can be transferred or sold at any time.

4. cUrrenT And fUTUre desTInATIOns

Members have access not only to any of the existing properties in the BTPC portfolio, but also to all new properties that may be acquired by BTPC in the future. Present inventory comprises one-bedroom to three-bedroom villas at Banyan Tree resorts in Phuket, Bali, Bintan, Seychelles, Lijiang, Maldives and Ringha; a private four-bedroom villa each in Tuscany, Italy and Provence, France; a two-bedroom apartment in London; UK and a two-bedroom apartment in Kyoto, Japan.

The Associate Villas and Reciprocal Villas portfolios are also available for your use, increasing our existing destinations choices to you.

To ensure villa availability, our membership to villa inventory ratio will be held at 1:1.5 -- 2.0. This level will ensure that demand from members will be sufficiently met.

The basic Membership Plan includes the use of a two-bedroom or larger villa within the Banyan Tree Private Collection “Owned Villas” portfolio for 7 nights.

BTPC Golf Access - Buy one membership and enjoy our Laguna Phuket and Laguna Bintan Golf courses at no cost for the rest of your life; terms and conditions apply.

Members are entitled to discounts for spa treatments, gallery products, food & beverage and extension of stays at Banyan Tree resorts. Additional membership services such as reservations and information on destinations are also provided.

8. Is THere A cAP On membersHIP?

Yes, there is a cap on membership. However, as the number of destinations offered to members increase, so too will the membership cap. The expanded inventory will thereby ensure that members can continue to enjoy their benefits without compromise.

11. HOW fAr In AdVAnce Of mY InTended cHeck-In dATe mAY I sUbmIT A reserVATIOn reQUesT?

Non-Peak Period

The earliest that you may make your reservation for a non-peak period is nine (9) months in advance of your intended check-in date.

Designated Peak Period

The earliest that you may make your reservation for a peak period week is twelve (12) months in advance of the first day of the designated peak period week.

Designated peak periods are: Christmas week, New Year week, Chinese New Year week, and Easter week. Specific Golden Week Peak Season and other special Japanese Public Holidays apply only to our Kyoto apartment.

No peak period surcharge will apply during these periods, but the cancellation policy is very strict and confirmation will depend on availability. Requests are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.

12. HOW WILL I knOW If mY reserVATIOn reQUesT HAs been cOnfIrmed?

All reservation requests will be confirmed by email or fax.

13. WHAT mIgHT PreVenT me frOm secUrIng A cOnfIrmed reserVATIOn?

Your reservation request will not be processed if you have defaulted in the payment of your annual dues, if you do not have the required number of days, or if your use rights have been suspended by the Club.

14. cAn mY frIends And fAmILY sTAY AT THe VILLAs?

Yes. Your friends and family are permitted to stay at the villas if you provide the Club’s Central Reservations with the names and addresses of the guests when the booking is made.

15. dOes mY membersHIP enTITLe me TO reserVe A PArTIcULAr VILLA TYPe ?

Your membership entitles you to one-bedroom to four-bedroom villas that are part of our “Owned Villas” portfolio. One-bedroom and two-bedroom villa choices are available at our “Associate Villas.”

16. WHAT Is THe AVerAge sIze Of THe bAnYAn Tree resOrTs VILLAs Or sTAndALOne PrIVATe VILLAs In THe bAnYAn Tree PrIVATe cOLLecTIOn POrTfOLIO ?

At Banyan Tree resorts, members will have access to one-bedroom to three-bedroom villas. The size of the private villas range from three to five bedrooms. The apartments in gateway cities range from one to three bedrooms.

17. HOW mAnY PersOns mAY OccUPY mY VILLA?

The maximum occupancy for a two-bedroom villa is four adults.

However, should an extra bed be required, this is subject to the hotel’s policy, and charges will be levied by the hotel, if applicable. The private four-bedroom villas will accommodate eight adults.

18. Is THere AnY resTrIcTIOn On HOW I sPLIT mY enTITLemenT sTAYs?

To allow members more flexibility, their room night entitlement stays may be split as they wish.

19. HOW fAr In AdVAnce Of mY InTended cHeck-In dATe mAY I sUbmIT A sPLIT-Week reserVATIOn reQUesT?

The same conditions apply as those described in Question (11) above.20. WHAT Are THe mInImUm And THe mAxImUm nUmber Of nIgHTs I cAn reserVe AT A TIme fOr sPLIT-Week Use?

There is no limitation. Any extensions of stay once you have used your room nights entitlement will be subject to pay per use terms at 20% off Best Available Rates on our website.

Check-in and check-out times vary depending on the property you have reserved.

The check-in and check-out times will be indicated in your confirmation document. Check-in will normally be at the front desk of Banyan Tree resorts.

22. Are THe rULes & regULATIOns And Terms & cOndITIOns sUbJecT TO cHAnge?

Yes. The Club may amend the Rules and Regulations from time to time. You will be notified of any changes. The same applies to the Terms & Conditions of the Club.

23. cAn I Use mY membersHIP dUrIng desIgnATed PeAk PerIOds?

Yes. The designated peak period weeks are Christmas Week, New Year Week, Chinese New Year Week, and Easter Week. However, there is no surcharge on stays during these designated peak weeks.

24. WHO benefITs frOm THe AnnUAL dUes?

Annual dues will be used solely for the benefit of BTPC members. A major portion of the surcharge and annual dues will go towards maintaining the villas and providing membership services, with the balance helping to cover administration costs.

25. WHY Are bTPc AnnUAL dUes THe LOWesT In THe IndUsTrY?

There are two reasons. Firstly, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts are allowed to rent out unoccupied BTPC villas, the rental revenues of which are used to subsidize annual dues. Secondly, maintenance costs of BTPC’s villas within Banyan Tree resorts benefit from the economies of scale achieved by the resorts.

26. WILL bTPc cOnTInUe TO Add neW desTInATIOns?

Yes. As membership grows, the Club plans to add villas at the destinations where new Banyan Tree resorts are being developed. More private properties in attractive locations in Europe and the Americas will also be considered.
