Oftentimes, parishioners wish to get more involved in parish life, but do not know where or how to begin. Below are some ways you may wish to explore to determine where you can best serve the Lord and His People in our collaborative. These ministries will be explained more fully in our forthcoming Parish Report. In the meantime, please pray and ask the Lord where He is calling you to serve His Church in our parishes…and for the courage to answer His call to service.

Our Collaborative Parish Cancer Support Group meets every Wednesday at 1:30 pm in

Sacred Heart Chapel to pray A Rosary for Life. Following the Rosary, members of the group

share their thoughts as they explore topics provided by the Christian resource, Together Living With Cancer.

Having cancer is often one of the most stressful experiences in a person's life. Our collaborative support group provides cancer patients and their

families, resources to cope with the emotional aspects of cancer by offering them a safe place to share their feelings and challenges. We learn from others who

have faced or are facing similar situations. Come join us in prayer for yourself or for someone

you love who is struggling with the effects of cancer in their lives. All are welcome!

Mourning the loss of someone you love is never easy, but there is hope.

The Collaborative Parishes of Sacred Heart and St. Thomas More will host Seasons of Hope, a unique

support group for the bereaved. This program is rooted in Catholic tradition, and conveys God’s

consolation through scripture, prayer, reflection and faith sharing. The group is starting a new season on Thursday June 28th at 1:00PM. There are 6 sessions

beginning Thursday, June 28th at 1:00PM in the Sacred Heart Parish Hall. Inquire at mbbrady@ shstm.org for details. We hope that you will prayerfully consider our invitation to come. We are uplifted by knowing that the Lord blesses those who mourn and offers not only hope

for us but true peace that surpasses all understanding. Seasons of Hope is a way to find him in our midst.

Great fun day for the whole family!!

Theology on Tap—Save the Date FRIDAY, JUNE 29, 2018 7:00-8:30 PM

At a recent faith enrichment session, a parishioner asked Father Sean a question and his answer surprised and intrigued her. She exclaimed, “Father, I did not know that! Can you stay and answer some more questions for us?” Unfortunately, at that time, Father was on his way to celebrate a funeral Mass and could not stay to answer more questions. But, ever responsive to his parishioners needs and wants, Father will host a “Theology on Tap” question and answer session. “Theology on Tap” has been occurring in many parts of the diocese, often in a tavern or public space where anyone can purchase tickets to attend. But, our “Theology on Tap” will take place in Sacred Heart Church hall where parishioners are invited free of charge to ask questions pertaining to Catholic faith and doctrine. Please note this evening is not meant as a discussion for parish operations or personal concerns, but is offered in response to our parishioners expressed need for answers pertaining to our Church’s doctrine

and practices. Please RSVP to Maureen.

The Best Catholic Content all in one place

FORMED.org is a revolutionary online platform featuring the best Catholic videos, audio talks, eBooks and movies from the Augustine Institute, St. Paul Center, Marian Fathers, Lighthouse Catholic Media, Ignatius Press and Word on Fire. The Catechism and personal Faith Formation are at the fingertips of every parishioner. Catholic movies and documentaries can be watched by all members of the family. There is also a “Kid’s Korner” full of videos, books, and activities. Thousands of resources can be studied, listened to, or watched in the comfort of your own home as your schedule allows. Visit www.FORMED.org to learn about these resources delivered to you by the Augustine Institute. Any parishioner in our collaborative may register without cost. Join our many parishioners who thank us for the gift of www.formed.org. For more information or assistance in registering call Maureen at the collaborative offices.

We are called to sing the mass together! The Church expresses eloquently that: “Through singing together at mass, prayer is expressed in a more attractive way, the mystery of the Liturgy, with its hierarchical and community nature, is more openly shown, and unity of hearts is more profoundly achieved by the union of voices, minds are more easily raised to heavenly things by the beauty of the sacred rites, and the whole celebration more clearly prefigures that heavenly Liturgy which is enacted in the holy city of Jersualem” (Musicam Sacram 5). We know that music is not the focus of the Mass. It does, however, help us focus on the Mass. The Mass contains songs with lyrics consisting of Sacred Scripture and prayers that have been perfected through the ages, which make them the most perfect songs to sing. If it took Aretha Franklin only a day to write “Respect,” then how much more wonderful is it to sing lyrics that Christians have spent centuries developing? Singing in the shower is great, but it is not enough! Sing the mass! When you come to Mass, please keep in mind that God loves everyone’s voice no matter how bad or good you may think it is. He just wants you to sing His praise and is greatly pleased by your efforts, so go for it!

WELCOME Our newest par ishioners Veronica Bagge, Jordan Erhardt, Benjamin Landers, Tucker Levy, Lilliana Masciarelli,

Edward Mayhew II, Lovinia Mazzariello, Michael Owen, Jake Ruozzi, Ella Stanton, Joshua Winfrey.

May God hold them in the palm of His hand as they learn to love and love to learn the Way of the Lord throughout their lives. We pray for God's abundant blessings upon

their families, especially their parents and Godparents, as they train their children in the way they should go, so when they are old they will not depart from it (Proverbs 22.26):
