Veterinary Authority Definition
Governmental authority of Member Country, comprising veterinarians, other professionals and para-professionals, having the responsibility and competence for ensuring or supervising the implementation of animal health and welfare measures, international veterinary certification and other standards and recommendations in the Terrestrial Code in the whole territory.

• Development of educational standards/core competencies by accrediting entities and VEE’s to meet societal needs
• Recognition by the Veterinary Authority of the foundational role that veterinary education plays in effective Veterinary Services
• Acknowledgement by Veterinary Statutory Bodies of the need for educational prerequisites/requirements for licensure/registration and continued competency
