A consultant for the Regional IT Operations and ITIL Department at Red Hat. Managed Red Hat’s relocation of their core data center and several test labs from their former headquarters to a hosted site. Project Manager for several large scale construction efforts that included high touch/low touch test lab environments and leased office space requirements.

Responsibilities include:

Data Center Operations

Operations Management of three Tier IV Data Centers (two caged spaces in Research Triangle Park and one 5000 square foot space in Boston) including space design and power requirements.

Ability to review AutoCAD documents to engineer building dimensions and data center space optimization.

Collaborated with Enterprise Architects on Openstack Cloud hardware installations to include power, network and software requirements at various data centers and hubs in Boston and Raleigh.

Provided ITIL/Risk management team with electrical connection records and schematics in their efforts to minimize server/cabinet outages during host site maintenance.

IT/Facilities Project Coordinator: Dex One Corporation, Jul 2007 – Dec 2012Hired to coordinate site transition activities across IT, Facilities, and Real Estate for the opening, relocation and closure of Dex One sites. Consistently recognized for outstanding performance and assigned increasing responsibilities, such as upgrading and maintaining the 6200 square foot Tier II data center and corporate-wide security administration, building access control and video surveillance. Requested by senior management to sit on the company’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) and IT Security Incident Response Team (SIRT). Core member of the Payment Card Industry Security Standards (PCI) committee to audit and upgrade the company’s policies for our data center, building access, IT network connectivity and hard drive/tape backup disposal. Played a critical role as the security administrator of the strike contingency team during union negotiations.

Responsibilities include:

IT/Facilities (Remote/Local Office) Worked with facilities and IT engineers to provide technical documentation, field reports and

schedules of office opening, relocation and closure. Designed network/telephony LAN/WAN interconnect rooms using Visio templates. Awarded numerous RFPs to various telecommunication/electrical contractors relative to

Data Center Facilities Management of 6200 sq. ft. Tier II Data Center including design, installation, and

preventive maintenance of Electrical, UPS, HVAC, Pre-Action Fire Suppression and Generator. Used National Fire Alarm Code 72 (2002 ed.) to perform Data Center Pre-Action fire suppression

design, install, maintenance and inspection. Successful installation of two 150 kVa UPS units including electrical phase balance/realignment. Utilized AutoCAD LT 2005 to engineer building dimensions and data center space optimization. Provided risk management team with records and schematics in their efforts to meet insurance

carrier requests and adhere to Cary Fire Department Preventive Care Program.

Emergency Response Team (ERT) Evaluate the Severity, Potential Impact, Safety Concerns, and Response Requirements based on

the initial information provided by the First Person On-Scene. Taking appropriate personal protective measures for employees. needed.
