COIR MILLING AND REHYDRATING We Start With This - Compressed Coir Bricks The use of Coir (Coco Peat) has become a common supplement to many growing mediums. Its water high retention and soil conditioning properties are attractive to growers, plus it can be used to form a barrier against common garden pests. Often arriving in compressed bricks form, they need to be broken up and expanded out to the original density which is often as high as 14 times the volume. A Coir Buster is required. The Coir bricks enter the system via a infeed hopper where they pass through an initial milling stage. The bricks are busted into smaller manageable sizes and then into a secondary milling process. At this stage there is an option to introduce water to maximise volume expansion and agitation applied to increase productivity. The finished material is then stock piled ready for use. Typical installations produce up to 60m3/hour. Installed power 36kW. Baggers | Palletisers | Wrappers | Mixers | Coir Milling & Rehydration | Lump Breakers | Batch Mixing Systems Typical brick size is 300x300x125mm.

COIR MILLING AND REHYDRATING

We Start With This - Compressed Coir Bricks

The use of Coir (Coco Peat) has become a common supplement to many growing mediums.

Coir hydration system adds 300 litres/min to aid expansion & reduce dust generation. 1Kg of cocopeat absorbs from 3,8 to 4,2 litres of water.

Finished Coir

1Kg of compressed cocopeat, after passage through our installation, expands to about 14 liters of loose cocopeat (from 12 to 16 liters, depending on the coco type).

From a project’s infancy Kockums can quickly and accurately provide concept designs and budget pricing for capital approval. At this early stage material trials are often under-taken at our Melbourne facility to help confirm solution selection.

Our In-house design engineering team design all equipment in compliance with Australian Standards and meeting our customers expectations. The Kockums Brand is well known for its “built to last” reputation and often unique approach.

Kockums offers installa-tion, commissioning and operator training. Equipment is fully assembled and tested prior to commissioning by experienced engineers to ensure optimum performance and efficiency.

Kockums has a trained service team providing spares and nationwide support to our clients. Every installation requires something different and our partnership program allows us to work with individual customers to determine the most effective level of support.
