Our People

MICHAEL WOOD MANAGING DIRECTOR – INCUBATION SERVICESMr. Wood has extensive experience as a Senior Executive (COO, EVP, VP/GM) for Consumer Electronics (CE) chip and software companies, including 13 years of general and operations management, product and marketing strategy, IP portfolio management, systems/software architecture and technology commercialization. With deep expertise in the CE ecosystem, Michael has held leadership roles at ThinkHR, a Software as a Service company (VP Marketing); Spatializer Audio Labs (COO/EVP Business Development); and Zoran Corporation (VP/GM – Home Entertainment) where he grew revenue 3x and increased market share 50%t. He also has significant technology architecture and strategic marketing experience from roles at Intel and Stanford Telecom. Michael has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

ROBERT YAMASHITA CO-FOUNDER & MANAGING DIRECTOR – INNOVATION SERVICESCo-founder of Cogentic Advisors. Mr. Yamashita leads Innovation Services, (IP monetization; ecosystem and technology strategy; M&A analyses), having led such initiatives for major Hollywood studios, CE companies and technology startups. Focused on monetizing technologies since 1995, his work in driving DivX into CE helped to power their $600M IPO in 2006. Mr. Yamashita has over 21 years in strategy, business development, alliance management and management consulting Sony, PwC, DivX, and semiconductor companies. With extensive experience on global standards organizations (MPEG, IEEE, SMPTE), he has a lengthy publication and speaking history on technology and business ecosystems. Mr. Yamashita holds a B.S. with Honors from the California Institute of Technology.

GLEN ANDERSON CO-FOUNDER & MANAGING DIRECTOR – INVESTMENT SERVICESPrior to Cogentic, Glen worked in investment banking at Oppenheimer & Co. in New York and Jefferies & Co. in San Francisco, focused on mobile, telecom, networking and media. Prior to investment banking, Glen worked in commodity trading in New York; venture capital in Europe and hedge funds in Chicago. Into technology his entire career, Glen started at Motorola Mobile Devices, helping design the world’s first smart phone (Motorola StarTAC). He has been a technology consultant to Lehman Brothers, the NYSE, Midway Games, Sprint Wireless and Comcast, and his software was a key component of Archipelago (NYSE trading). Glen holds a B.S. Magna Cum Laude in Mechanical Engineering, and an MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago. Glen holds Series 7, 63, 79, 86, 87 and 24 securities licenses.
