The enigma code is possibly the most widely used of the codes. This code is used as a way of dragging the audience in as all the other codes are. This code is specifically used to set doubts and questions into the viewers mind. This would drag the audience in by them wanting to know what will happen. This is a good code to use for an opening title sequence because it will entice the spectator to carry on watching the movie. A good example of the enigma code in use is where you see someone get attacked and put to the floor and then the movie cuts to a completely different area/story. This would leave the viewer with many different questions, such as, what happened to the man, is he dead is he alive what are they going to do with him. That is an example where it would make all spectators grow in interest in the film and want to know what will happen !!

The opening titles are important because it is the first thing in which the spectators see and provides them with their first impression of any movie in which they would be viewing. They are used because they confirm or appose the expectations in which people may have of the film or certain genre. It is the first thins in which the viewer are likely to see so it is absolutely key that they get the opening sequence right !Additional purpose of the

opening titles is to drag the

audience in and strengthen the
