What Is A Web Page?A web page is a document or an information source that is suitable to be viewed on the internet by the world. Web pages can be accessed through a web browser such as ‘Google’. There is a whole range of different web pages, they can literally be about anything such as music, films, music videos etc.

Layout Of A Web PageThe layout of a web page must be easy to use and that the design is effective. The web page needs to be bold and clear for people to be able to read and understand. Normally a webpage will be set out by the centre is used to present the main content of what the web page is about. There will be navigation tools on the left or right side of the page to help you scroll up and down the page viewing everything there is . At the top of the page will usually be a link which gives you more information to what the page consists.

The grid system is used to help separate sections of the webpage and present the information in a small easy to ready text, allowing people to access segments. Unlike typical conventions depending on the content of the web page for example a bandsweb page will have a large picture of the band in the centre of the webpageand the back navigation tools are across the top of the picture. The font may be in colour to separate different types of information and the picturein the middle adds to the visual interest making it appealing to whoever is looking at it.

Technical CodesWithin a web page technical codes are used by moving images, sounds, music and audience interaction. Making the web page more attractive to an audience. These things are normally on web pages which show new films, music, bands etc. Also web pages allow people to download materials, also on newer web pages it lets people interact with each other by commenting on images, music, films or to each other.

Content Of A Web PageWeb pages with different audiences and purposes will look and work different from other web pages depending on what the web pages are about and what information they hold. For an example a news web page will have a different design, colour scheme, images, information on stories around the world and navigation tools to a bands web page which will be advertising the band, their music, their image etc. This web page could be bright coloured, different colour scheme and also bold, music playing, music downloads etc. The web page is there for entertainment or information purposes .

Genre CodesThe genre of web pages will depend again on what the web page contains, if the web page consists of news, tabloid newspapers they will have easy and recognisable web designs and codes and conventions from that type of genre so the audience can use to easy and to make sure the audience can recognise the genre and that their expectations of that type of web page are fulfilled.

Audience

Different audiences might find certain layouts, design and information choices more appealing then other web pages but it all depends on what the audience is looking for. Bold, clear and easy to use web pages will attract an audience and of course the information they are looking for. Bad layouts and bad colour schemes will turn audiences away due to it not being very clear and unusable. Webpage that advertise a band won’t have a lot of un relevant information it to confuse the person looking at it.
