Introduction Coastal Services
Market Perspective for Coastal Information Systems
Coasts are constantly under threat from human interference
and climate change (coastal & Inland) and exploitation
(ecosystem services)
High detailed information (spatial and temporal) is needed to
manage this threat and maximize the benefits
Many value-added services can be tailored to specific
needs, resulting in new business
Earth Observation is an open source information
Integrate this with the expertise embedded in operational
systems
Fuse it with ground base information and crowd sourcing
(people science)

Ecopotential│2015-2019
Introduction Coastal Services
The ECOPOTENTIAL project focuses its activities and pilot actions on atargeted set of internationally recognized protected areas (PA) inEurope, European Territories and beyond, including mountain, arid andsemi-arid, and coastal and marine ecosystems.
ECOPOTENTIAL addresses the entirechain of ecosystem-related services
(a) developing ecosystem data services,(b) implementing model output services to distribute the results of the modelling activities(c) estimating current and future ecosystem services and benefits, combining ecosystem
functions (supply) with beneficiaries needs (demand).
Odyssea│2017-2021
Introduction Coastal Services
The Odyssea project focuses its activities on setting up coastal observatories along the Mediterranean Basin incorporating in its downstream services the downscaled Copernicus services and providing to a wider user group added value products for the management of coastal and marine ecosystems.
ECOPOTENTIAL addresses the entireMediterranean Basin setting upobservatories
(a) developing data services including forecast,(b) Establishing coastal observatories based on EO added value data.(c) Providing Service to management, sectors (aquaculture & tourism), governmental bodies
