Teaching, Research, and Program Focus AreasTheM.A.CoachingSportPerformance’sdynamiccurriculumisbeingtaughtbynumberoffacultywhoholdexpertiseintheareasalignedwiththeNationalStandardsforSportCoaches(NASPE).Ourfacultyhavemanyyearsoffieldexperienceandhavespecificexpertiseincoaching,sportpsychology,exercisescience,physicaleducation,nutrition,sportsmanagement,recreation,athletictraining,andhealthandwellness.
Theprogrampreparesstudentsforcoachingcareersatalllevelsofsportingcompetitionincluding:youth,interscholastic,intercollegiate,Olympic,para-Olympicorprofessional.Ourengagingprogrampreparesstudentstoacquireawell-roundedknowledgebaseandrelevantpracticalexperiencesthatpromoteanathlete-centered,life-longdevelopmentmodelofsportparticipationwiththegoalofmaximizingthebenefits
ofsportforallparticipants.
