ball screen and normal cross screen at blocks. 4 dives to

and receives reversal pass from 1. 2 has a choice of cutting out the

out the single side, 5 posts on right side. 4 can cut to high post to

eliminate weak side help.

6 CALL—Back Screen SpecialTime tested play used at Arizona for All-American Sean Elliott (3).

Starts in 2-1-2 set. Guards X the post after entry pass. On ball

reversal, 3 uses back screen to post up on left post up area. 2 gets

POINT CLEARThis play is designed to clear the middle of the floor for

your point guard or best scorer. Double stacks create a set

play look initially. 2 and 3 flatten out to the corners to draw

defenders. As dribbler begins penetration, 2 and 3 read

their defender. If help is given, 2 and 3 slide up to receive

pass. If no help is shown they stay flat.

DUCK AND POPCutting action sets up a curl and pop option for 3 and 5

respectively. 1 and 3 cut initially to set up ball reversal. On reversal

from 2—4—1, 3 curls using 5's screen, followed by a screen down

by 2 to free 5. This play is perfect for a scoring 3 man and a 5 that

can shoot the perimeter jump shot. Both options will be present.

HIGH DIVE SpecialThis play can yield a lay up or post up by 3 or a three point shot by

4. Starts with a double flare for 1 who catches on the left wing. On

the catch, 4 screens for 3 diving to the basket. If 4's defender helps

a little on 3's cut, 4 steps out behind the line to shoot a three. False

action between 2 and 5 on the right wing will occupy the weak side

defenders.

triple stack and dribble out to right wing by 1. Ball reversal to 5

possible, 4 screens across for 3 to catch and score or post up and

score.

FLOODThis play offers three good looks to score. First option is 1 using

the on ball screen to penetrate into the paint to score. Two, 3 gets

designed if 1 reverses to 4.

POST BUTTON HOOKThis is a high low play that starts out with a dribble out to the left

Immediately 4 reverses back to 1 and 5 button hooks back to the

left block to catch and score.

post area. 3 catches from 1 and 1 clears to weak side. On the catch,

options: 5 seals after screening for 4 OR ball is reversed to high

post and 4 hits 5 on a post seal. 1 and 2 occupy defenders on the

weak side.
