An eligibility list may be created for similar casual, part-time, full-time, and term positions DUTIES Reporting to the Program Manager, School of Business and Applied Arts and School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts, the Co-op Coordinator works in collaboration with Rising Hope Bakery staff and students to effectively deliver the Co-op education program. The Co-op Coordinator provides direct assistance and support to students and employers in the innovative delivery of the Professional Baking and Patisserie Certificate Program through Rising Hope Bakery. The Co-op Coordinator will guide, counsel and monitor the students to acquire and complete their work terms, working in partnership with Red River College and the workplace. The Co-op Coordinator is a vibrant, energetic team-focused individual who supports an integrated approach to professionalism and technical skills to ensure a smooth transition for students into employment. Duties include visiting students on work sites, maintaining and analyzing the database, communicating with staff and students regarding co-op opportunities, customizing co-op materials for students and employers regarding Rising Hope Bakery and organizing ongoing co-op events. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Post-secondary certificate in Baking, Culinary or Hospitality; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Experience working in human service environments with intercultural, trauma-informed and harm reduction philosophies Several years experience guiding and mentoring students with multiple barriers in an educational environment especially related to employability Ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team Effective verbal communication skills Strong oral communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems and resolve conflict Strong organizational and time management skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and ability to adapt to new technologies Values Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commitment to lifelong learning.
