Current IPv4 Delegation Policy and Practice• APNIC: Maximum /22 from final /8 (103/8) plus /22 from

recovered pool for each member (include NIR members)

• RIPE NCC: Maximum /22 from the final /8 pool for each member

• ARIN: Unmet requests will be put into a waiting list until resources available. Each member can only have one request in the queue. Current available size is /24 in Aug 2015

• LACNIC: Maximum /22 for each member every 6 months

• AFRINIC: Still have enough IPv4 for normal allocations

Which RIR allows IPv4 inter-RIR Transfers?• APNIC and ARIN implemented inter-RIR IPv4 transfer

policy. It has been many IPv4 transfers from ARIN region to APNIC region. Only one transfer from APNIC region to ARIN region so far

• RIPE NCC will implement the inter-RIR IPv4 transfer policy end of Aug 2015

• LACNIC has a policy proposal to allow incoming inter-RIR transfers under discussion

• AFRINIC has a policy proposal about Out-Of-Region Use of AFRINIC Internet Number Resources under discussion

Current IPv6 Delegation Policy and Practice• It is very easy to request IPv6 from all RIRs

• Minimum allocation size is /32

• Minimum assignment size is /48

• In LACNIC and RIPE NCC regions, members need to have or request IPv6 to be able to request IPv4 now

Current ASN Delegation Policy and Practice• Since 2007, RIRs started to delegate 4-byte AS Numbers

• 2-byte AS Number is running out

• You will receive 4-byte AS Number by default when you request for an AS Number now

• If you request for a 2-byte AS Number, you need to prove either your equipment or upstream does not support 4-byte AS Number
