All Weldon CNC grinders, although built on standardplatforms, are specifically configured, tooled,

and programmed to suit the end user'srequirements. Prior to shipment, all machines

are tested and qualified on the user's actualproduction parts. After shipment, a Weldon engineer will

travel to the installation site to assist with start-up and provide on-sitetraining for the operator, programmer, and maintenance personnel.

Weldon's product range offers a viable solution for practically everyexternal or internal cylindrical grinding challenge on parts ranging from.100" to 16" in diameter and from a few ounces to 1,000 pounds. Weldon's unique machine features and vast experience with superabrasives offers successful solutions for difficult to cut materials such as carbide, ceramic, exotic aerospace alloys, and hard tool steels.

Weldon's largest capacity OD grinder, theSolaris is ideal for grinding applicationsinvolving work parts up to 60" in lengthand weighing up to 1,000 pounds. TheSolaris has been designed with high-speedspindle capability and the stiffnessrequired for superabrasive PEEL grindingapplications. A dual OD wheel spindleoption adds additional flexibility formultiple function grinding in a single set-up. All this power, all this capability,and still the smallest footprint of any machine in it's class.

Midas AGN4/P175 UGC Pulsar - G30 Series

The workhorse of Weldon's line, theMidas series offers users the highest level of productivity for OD grindingapplications. Available in either straight or angular wheelhead versions, the Midascan address both between centers andchucking set-ups. Table length, wheel size and horsepower are tailored to suiteach specific application. The ruggedconstruction of the Midas makes it a good choice for PEEL grinding and "C" axis cam grinding depending on the users requirements.

The newest machine in Weldon's productline, the Altaira, is designed to satisfy highproduction OD grinding applications onwork parts up to 16" in diameter and 40" in overall length. Like the Solaris, the Altaira has high-speed spindlecapability and the stiffness required forsuperabrasive PEEL grinding applications.The single pass profiling (PEEL) processallows the user to grind a variety ofshapes on any number of part styles.

Weldon's AGN4 is a small part cylindricalOD production grinder designed tohandle high precision components in therange of up to 3" in diameter and up to10" in overall length. The P175 is thesame basic machine with the addition of a "C" axis package including a heavy-dutylive spindle workhead and both rotary andlinear scales for non-round (cam) grinding.Both models are available with factoryintegrated gantry or robotic machinetending systems as an option.

The Phoenix is a heavy-duty CNC IDgrinder for parts up to 16" in diameter. Itis available in dual spindle configurationsfor multiple surface ID or ID/OD chuckingapplications. An optional programmable"C" axis is available for non-round (cam)grinding capability. Designed for the use of superabrasives, the Phoenix canaccommodate both diamond and vitrifiedCBN grinding wheels.

The UGC is a compact, high precisionCNC ID grinder with a 4" chuck capacity.Options are available for dual spindleconfigurations to satisfy multiple surfaceID or ID/OD chucking applications. An optional programmable "C" axis is also available for non-round (cam)grinding capability. Designed for the use of superabrasives, the UGC canaccommodate both diamond and vitrifiedCBN grinding wheels.

Weldon's most versatile grinder, the 1632GOLD can satisfy a wide range of low tomedium volume production applicationseither between centers or in a chuckingmode. All rotary and linear axes arespecially sealed from airborne contaminantsproviding unmatched longevity in carbideand ceramic grinding applications. Theoptional swing-down ID grinding assemblyallows the user to grind external andinternal surfaces including tapers, radii, and shoulders in a single set-up.

Small lot production and job shopapplications can easily be addressed withthe new Pulsar series of CNC grinders.The Pulsar is available in both 20" and 40"between centers capacities, both with a swing of 11.8". The Pulsar can beequipped for conventional OD grinding(straight or angular wheelhead) or with a"B" axis swiveling wheelhead for multipleOD wheels. There is also an option for OD and ID grinding spindles to providethe ultimate in flexibility.

Automation For Grinding

Automatic machine tending solutions are offered for all Weldon CNCgrinders. Custom hard-tooled systems, overhead gantries, and roboticsolutions can all be considered depending on the users particularcircumstances. Weldon is a certified integrator for Fanuc Robotics.
