CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS CLASS ONE Black Student Union (BSU) Today our purpose is to promote cultural awareness and mutual respect campus wide through the Arts, Education, and Fellowship. This organization is open to anyone, from any background, who wants to learn more about the experience we live as African-American students and our rich culture that has changed the world. Montclair State Dietetics Organization (MSDO) We aim to promote student participation in nutrition related activities, further nutrition knowledge, encourage healthful living, and enhance career development. MSDO is open to all students who want to promote healthy lifestyles, regardless of their major.     CLASS ONE

    Black Student Union (BSU)

    Today our purpose is to promote cultural awareness and mutual respect campus wide through the Arts, Education, and Fellowship. This organization is open to anyone, from any background, who wants to learn more about the experience we live as African-American students and our rich culture that has changed the world.

    Montclair State Dietetics Organization (MSDO)

    Our purpose is to provide a safe and clean environment for students to gather and participate in community games and activities. We provide a central point for the many Montclair students who enjoy gaming that they would not have otherwise. We are a community club, linking students with each other and introducing people to others that share their hobbies and interests, allowing for a richer and developed sense of community amongst the Montclair student body.

  • Japan Club

    The club welcomes anyone who has an interest in the culture, people, language, history, and other wonders of Japan. All are invited to attend and participate in activities and events that will help us to learn about and celebrate the country and culture of the Land of the Rising Sun. The various events that Japan Club holds include Japanese Media Nights, field trips, demonstrations, small celebrations, bake sales, and more!

    Montclair Filipino American Student Association (MUFASA)

    Montclair Unified Filipino American Student Association (M.U.F.A.S.A.) is a Class I Organization of Montclair's S.G.A. The purpose of this organization is to educate the student body on Filipino culture and for Filipinos to have an identity on Montclair's campus.

    Latin American Student Organization (LASO)

    As Latinos, we have flavor--we have that extra movement within our hips that can move people. LASO aims to add that extra hip movement at MSU by sharing our music, food, dance, stories, and intellect with people on campus who might not know about our culture; we also aim to ignite that flavor among Latinos students who are looking for a home. We are a FAMILY! Come out to our events, hang out at out LASO Office

    Video Production Club

    We are a group of students who love various aspects of video production and hope to share that passion with other members of the university community. We are always looking for new members and no experience is required.The Video Production Club is an organization for filmmakers and videographers to meet and produce video & film content on campus.

    Montclair State Dance Company

    MSDC is a dance organization that accepts dancers of all styles and levels of experience! That means you can have little to no experience at all. You just need to have a passion for dance! We cover all styles of dance such as Hip-Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Tap, and even Salsa. If you have an interest or a passion for dance, this is the club for you!

    Players

    We're Montclair State University's student-run theatre organization. Players was founded in 1937 to give Montclair State University students the opportunity to create theater.Players do numerous productions every year, such as dramas, comedies, one-acts, cabaret nights and musicals. In the early 1970s, Players became a Class One Organization of the SGA, Inc. which it remains to this day.

  • South Asian Student Association (SASA)

    We aim to be an inclusive community for anyone who is interested or apart of South Asian culture, everyone is welcome! The purpose of South Asian Student Association (SASA) is to collectively embrace the cultures of the eight countries that are included in South Asian Countries. These countries include: India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan, Maldives, and Afghanistan.

    Unified Asian American Student Organization (UAASO)

    We are the Unified Asian American Student Organization (UAASO) at Montclair State University! We are a Class I organization of the Student Government Association. We are passionate to network and teach all interested individuals regarding Asian culture. At the same time we strive to bring the diverse MSU community together as a whole by hosting educational, interactive, and social events on campus.

    CLASS TWO

    Justice for Education

    The purpose of this organization will be to raise awareness for social justice in school systems and in the community. To advocate for students and their families that have been historically mistreated or have not been given the same opportunity from their school systems.

    LadiesFirst

    The mission of LadiesFIRST is to overall teach self-worth and value through sisterhood, integrity, and love. LadiesFIRST impacts the campus community socially, academically, intellectually, and emotionally. Indeed, we help students successfully graduate through academic events, networking programs, and opportunities while uplifting and empowering.

    Montclair State University Marketing Association

    The MSU Marketing Association is a Class II organization that focuses on different areas in marketing. Members gain experience in developing marketing strategies, consulting, event planning, and much more. It is open to all majors to join!

    Muslim Student Association (MSA)

    The Muslim Students’ Association strives to build unity through diversity and education. We aim to provide programs for people of all backgrounds, levels of knowledge and levels of piety to learn and meet with other Muslims on and off campus.

    National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)

  • The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is an African-American civil rights organization in the United States, formed in 1909 by Moorfield Storey, by Mary White Ovington and W. E. B. Du Bois. MSU'S NAACP Chapter is here to be a voice to students of all backgrounds on this campus.

    The purpose of the Native African Student Organization is to influence, preserve, and educate the university community on the African diaspora. As an organization we hope to shed light on different countries in Africa by displaying it through its rich culture. We believe that through the exposure of different African cultures we will be able to unite people from all over the African continent and abroad.

    Pre-Law Society

    organization of the Student Government Association that strives to provide students with the resources necessary to excel in the law school admissions process. This student organization offers students the assistance, answers and motivation you need to move toward making your legal dreams an enjoyable reality, without the dues or pledging!

    Speaking Through Silence

    We are the creative writing organization on campus! We are here to bring you feels in the best way we know how-through creative writing and poetry. So if you like to write, sing, perform, and even help with publicity and advertisement you should come on out to our meetings and events to see what we are all about!

    The Brotherhood La Hermandad

    We are The Brotherhood La Hermandad, a Class II organization geared towards, but not limited just to, aiding Black and Hispanic males from an academic, professional, and social standpoint here at Montclair State University.The Brotherhood La Hermandad pushes for academic excellence, as a collective, by running study sessions and holding accountability for one another.

    The Physics Club

    The Physics Club is a Class II-chartered student organization and we welcome all science majors to join our exciting group Physics is a natural science, studied and practiced in order to better understand how the Universe operates. Mathematics is the abstract science of number, quantity, and space.

  • Voices of Unity

    The purpose of this organization is to express the cultural and artistic values of African-American heritage through Gospel Music. The vision of this organization is to build cooperation and respect among students, faculty, and the administration of Montclair State University of all spiritual and faith beliefs; to understand and appreciate one another’s musical history and culture in order to create a harmonious collegiate atmosphere through choir music, and artistic expression; to be a model of interaction for the campus community.

    CLASS THREE

    Accounting Society

    Our core objectives include guiding members who are interested in pursuing a career in the accounting profession, looking for extra classroom academic guidance, or interested in unique volunteer opportunities. All of this is done yearly through a series of networking opportunities and professional career meetings, tutoring, and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA.)

    Active Minds

    Active Minds is an organization that empowers students to increase awareness about mental health issues on college campuses and helps students utilize resources, making it easier to seek help as soon as it is needed. We strive to eliminate the stigma associated with mental health issues in order to help students feel like they can openly express themselves without feeling as though they are being judged by others.

    The Montclair State Petey Green Program

    The Petey Greene Program has been active in New Jersey since 2008. We recruit, train and coordinate volunteers to serve as academic tutors at 8 different correctional facilities in the area, primarily recruiting undergraduate and graduate students from Montclair University

    Biology Club

    The skills gained in the club will create volunteer opportunities and teach lessons to students in a way that the classroom may not. Additionally, more information about science oriented careers will be available to students who want it. There will be many different activities throughout the semester. Everyone is welcome! Please bring your questions! We are willing to answer any questions you may have.

    Data Driven Student Alliance (DDSA)

    The Data Driven Student Alliance is a student-run club that aims to educate MSU students of all majors on the subject of big data and data analytics. The DDSA will host educational events and workshops that teach students to use powerful industry tools, and bring in real world professionals to discuss their careers and offer guidance and advice.

    Caribbean Student Organization (CaribSo)

    We are the Caribbean Student Organization of MSU, but we are better known as CaribSO! We encourage any and all students at Montclair State University who share this culture, or have a passion for the various cultures and traditions of the Caribbean to come to our meetings and be an active participant in our organization.

    Environmental Club

    At the Environmental Club, we strive to cultivate a space where everyone feels welcome, heard and included regardless of their background, major, or their level of knowledge on environmentalism and sustainability topics. Our purpose is to assist interested students with developing environmentally and sustainable conscious goals and habits based on their major and greatly unique lifestyle.

  • We talk about what's trending in the industry, have DIY parties, and in general have a lot of activities and events all year round, including putting on our very own fashion show every year! The club is opened to anyone and everyone so bring your friends for some fashionable fun!

    Be inspired and hear practical advice as female founders take the stage to share how they did it while launching a startup. Conference will feature short TED-style talks from successful women entrepreneurs from a variety of industries, and a panel of tech entrepreneurs. Last year, more than 500 people attended the conference, and the event offers some of the best networking in New Jersey. Men are welcome, and encouraged to attend.

    Future Educators Association

    Our focus is on the personal and professional development of students across campus, encouraging them to positively interact with our community, discover their pedagogies and ideologies, as well as to allow for seamless growth and success for one’s future.

    German Club

    Our club is an organization that allows students to celebrate an amazing culture while hosting a wide variety of events that bring students even closer together. Everyone is extremely welcoming and it’s not only a network of students, but of friends.

    Global Medical Brigades

    our goal is to provide students with the amazing opportunity to travel and truly make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. Through this organization, students are able to educate and empower the communities that we visit, in an effort to make a lasting impact on their lives. Join Us!

    Habitat for Humanity

    Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities.

    Innovative Audio

    Where MSU students go to mess with their favorite DAWs, take part in audio workshops, and collaborate with each other. A place for aspiring musicians and for those interested in sound for film. We strive to touch upon all aspects of audio, as well as clean recording and editing techniques on all DAWs

    International Student Organization

    is a community that cares for the spiritual, practical, and emotional needs of the international students by creating opportunities for fellowship and intentional relationship building.

    SA shares Korean culture and traditions with the students of Montclair State University. This club does not require you to be Korean or of any Asian descent so please feel free to join and learn!

    Management Club

    The Management Club strives to establish great leaders who will use their valuable experience to benefit themselves as well as others. The skills we will choose to focus on will help students’ on a professional as well as personal basis.

    Montclair State Dance Marathon

    Montclair State Dance Marathon is a student run fundraising organization that strives to create a meaningful tradition on campus by supporting local children and their families from Children's Specialized Hospital. This organization hosts a variety of events including an annual Dance Marathon. We offer leadership skills, networking opportunities, and memorable experiences changing the lives of the kids and their families in our community.

    Montclair State Food Systems

    The purpose of this organization is to bring awareness to Montclair's campus and explain to students about food issues.Also toto bring awareness to concepts revolving around our food, farm to table, culture, sustainability, history, religion, social, environmental and political aspects that fall into the realm of the Food System! All majors welcome as it somehow ties into the food system!

    Montclair State Bhangra

    Montclair State Bhangra (MSB) is an Indian dance team! We mostly celebrate the Punjab region of India. Dance moves originated from the working moves in the field. There is a lot of jumping/hopping and use of the arms and legs. Some instruments used are the Dhol (drum) and thumbi (indian ukelele). Anyone is welcome to join! See you at practice!

    Montclair State University Acapella

    We are a class III organization who practice and perform Acapella music. Anyone who enjoys music can join and gain more experience or continue their growth of knowledge in music. Our main purpose is to perform events on campus, have fun, and gain connections with people who share similar interests.

    MSU Art Society serves our community of visual artists by hosting workshops, lectures, and guest speaking engagements that focus on portfolio-building and networking. We provide support and advice for students seeking to enter the Illustration/Animation major, for students working towards their Illustration/Animation degree, and for all artists on campus who seek to improve their skills and find a home with us.

    Montclair State University Barbell Club

    The purpose of MSU Barbell Club is to explore different areas of interest and create a social environment where students with various fitness experiences can come together to share information with one another.

    Montclair State University Car Club

    To connect with others who share the automotive passion and a desire to support their community, by creating an atmosphere where all enthusiasts can expand their automotive knowledge, build friendships, share ideas, and contribute to the car and local culture through charitable events.

    The purpose of this organization is to connect students that have an interest in history and provide an environment that can establish networks whether personal or professional.

    Our mission is to welcome and encourage all skill levels to partake in the fine art world. Through planned events and activities MSU Muse will invoke creativity and educate members and event-goers by offering unique art experiences available to all. MSU Muse has a focus in the Fine Arts. Including, but not limited to, painting, weaving, photography, and sculpture.

    Montclair State University Pensa

    Weekly Bible Multi-Cultural studies Meeting. We study the word, play games, share testimonies and pray. All are welcomed to join us possess our campus for Christ.

    Our purpose is to educate the student body at Montclair State University about the therapeutic value and clinical uses of music, which helps a wide range of people to improve their quality of life.     Multicultural Psychology Scholars (MPS)

    The purpose of this organization is to be a source of information and support to all psychology students at Montclair State University, to aid in the recruitment and retention of multicultural psychology students in order to prepare psychologists and other professionals who will be effective in a diverse, multicultural society. This organization seeks the involvement of MSU students, faculty, alumni, and those involved in promoting equity in the field of psychology.

    Open to all psychology majors, the club holds monthly meetings in Dickson Hall — feel free to stop by! The Psychology Club regularly invites guest speakers to come talk to students about all areas of psychology, including what to do after graduation and how to select the right graduate program.

    The purpose of this organization is to welcome all students with an interest in computing and information technology to join together.
