Have you ever wondered about your club officers and their dedication to the club over the years and their years of service as an elected club officer?

Well I have and the subject came up recently at the club board meeting as we discussed the upcoming officers elections. So I did some research going back to 2004, which is when the club took a turn in focus from the years gone past and when the club website and Watts News newsletter were established as we know it today. The following is what I found.

By the way, any member is invited to attend the OARC board meetings which are held about 4 times per year, on an as needed schedule. Ask any elected official if you are interested in attending.

OARC Appointed/Volunteer Positions Tenure

In addition, several members have served over the years or still are serving in a non-elected appointed or volunteer position doing essential jobs that help keep the club functioning.

At least three or four times a year Richard Morrison W7RIK and Jason Miles KE7IET conducts the Weber County VE Test Sessions that have provided for many new hams to join the ranks of Amateur Radio in our area. Our thanks to Mike Fullmer KZ7O and Scott Willis KD7EKO for all that they do to keep our repeaters operational. Val Campbell K7HCP volunteered to be the club equipment manager as well as the club webmaster and newsletter editor.

Kent Gardner WA7AHY volunteered to be the club historian and librarian which will preserve our place in history. Ceva Cottrell KE7IEV volunteered to be the club photographer and club QSL manager.

Larry Griffin AD7GL is our club call (W7SU) sign trustee. All previous club Presidents act as advisors to the board for at least one year following their release from the top position: Gary Liptrot N7ZI, Mike Fullmer KZ7O, Kent Gardner WA7AHY, Kim Owen KO7U, Larry Griffin AD7GL and Gil Leonard NG7IL. Others volunteer to remain on as advisors on an ongoing basis, such as Stan Sjol W0KP.
