• A.K.A- Ecstasy, X, E, Adam, Molly, Hug Beans & Love Drug • Action- synthetic, psychoactive drug, acts as both a

stimulant and psychedelic• Description- Usually in tablet form and ingested orally,

they typically have logos so dealers can compete with one another

• Can have anabolic effects and is used by body-builders

• Action- intermediate-acting benzodiazepine, similar to Valium• Description- in the past was a white tablet, but it is now a

light green caplet with a blue core• Result of sexual assaults when combined with alcohol

• Typically called designer drugs because they are manmade and not derived from nature

• These new drugs are usually related to parental compounds of “traditional” drugs such as amphetamines and LSD

• These drugs tend to be abused at bars, nightclubs, concerts, and parties

• Typically abused by teens and young adults• For most of these drugs it can be difficult to determine source,

chemicals and possible contaminants
