Government Cloud Exercise
Defined some Standard PaaS, IaaS & SaaS and invited companies to put offerings on a buyer portal (‘G-Cloud’)
Compared incumbent SIs/Os contract charges against their equivalent G-Cloud offering ................
X2 – x10 £Cheaper on G-Cloud(from the same providers!)
Advantage#2 = Cheaper

• Need insight into Legacy • Strategy for Cloud
Question:
“Yes, but of course, new Web business-to-consumer systems are obviously ideal for cloud services: they’re fairly simple; self-contained; and the cost of the cloud infrastructure can be added to the customer transaction.
But what about legacy applications? They’re built from ‘old stuff’; they have complicated interfaces and dataflows; and we don’t use a ‘pay as you go’ charging model – LoBs pay a standard fixed internal price”
