suggested use:
1 Decide whether the activity will be completed individually or as a team and photocopy the following bingo sheet as needed. Ensure children have a pencil and pressing board to support them to legibly record their ideas.
2 Head outside to a good cloud watching location (A grassy area is perfect for laying down to observe the clouds. Morning or afternoon is best for observing as the sun is not directly overhead then)
3
Use the sheet to quickly record what you can see…. Clouds keep moving so speed is of the essence! You could use the sheet as a Bingo sheet (first person to record 4 in a row/complete the whole sheets etc.) or purely as a recording activity. Children could complete it as a team, sharing & recording ideas together or photographing clouds to print and glue on later.
4 Encourage children to point out and share what they can see with their friends, and gather together at the end to allow each child to share their favourite finding!
5 Back in the classroom choose from a selection of writing sheets to record your cloud watching fun!
Use your imagination to observe shapes and pictures in the clouds, then choose from a selection
of writing sheets to record your cloud watching fun.
There’s only so much planning you can do in advance for this activity… it’s either a
beautiful cloudy day or it’s not!
Find a cloud that looks like something you would
find in the OCEAN.
Find a cloud that looks like something that CAN FLY.
Find a cloud that looks like something starting with
a LETTER T.
Find a cloud that looks like something you would
find in a ZOO.
Find a cloud starting with the FIRST LETTER OF YOUR
NAME.
Find a cloud that looks like something you would
find in SCHOOL.
Find a cloud that looks like a TOY.
Find a cloud that looks like a BUG.
Find a cloud that looks like something YOU CAN DRIVE.
Find a cloud that looks Like a BUILDING.
Find a cloud that looks like Something YOU CAN EAT.
Find a cloud that looks like a PERSON.
