Why cloud services is popular
Cloud computing services model
Development types of cloud computing
Advantages of cloud computing
Disadvantages of cloud computing
‘Cloud’ is a metaphor for Internet.
An Internet-based computing, that provides you
› On-demand resources like electricity.
› You pay as you go.
› Use only what you need, no extra expenditures.
Accessing computing resources that are owned and operated by a third-party service provider.
Concept evolved in 1950(IBM) called RJE (Remote Job
Entry Process).
In 2006 Amazon provided First public cloud AWS(Amazon
Web Service).
Idea that revolutionized cloud computing:
utility
computing
Gridcomputing
It has three components
1.) Client computers
2.) Distributed Servers
3.) Datacenters
Clients
Clients are the device that the end user interact
cloud.
three types of clients:
1.) Mobile 2.) Thick 3.) Thin (Most Popular)
Datacenter
It is collection of servers where application is
placed and is accessed via internet.
Distributed servers
Often servers are in geographically different
places, but server acts as if they are working next to
each other
Reduce the complexity of networks.
Do not have to buy software licenses.
Customization.
Cloud providers that have specialized in a particular area (such as e-mail) can bring advanced services that a single company might not be able to afford or develop.
scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
Info. at cloud are not easily lost.
There are major there types of services. There are
1. Software as a service
2. Platform as a service
3. Infrastructure as a service
Cloud ClientsWeb browser, mobile
app, clients
PaaSDatabase, web server,
deployment tools
IaaSVirtual machines, storage, networks
SaaSCRM, Email, games,

Platform
Infrastructure
Deployment models define the type of access to the cloud. These are:
Private cloud
Community cloud (Combined Cloud)
Public cloud and
Hybrid cloud
Lower Computer Cost Improved
Performance
Increased data
reliability
Universal document
access
Reduced software costs
Unlimited storage capacity
Improved document
format compatibility
Instant software updates
Advantages
Stored data might not be secure
Features might be limited
Does not work well with low-speed connections
Requires a constant Internet connection
Disadvantages
