During Ottoman period, rulers wore kavuk and caftan under which they wore shirt and pants.
These clothes were usually made with precious fabrics such as silk and wool. Gold yarns were sometimes used, too. Floral patterns
like tulips, carnations roses were usually used as decoration.
The women in the palace wore long dresses under their caftans. They wore hood on their heads. The fabrics were usually very valuable silk and satin.
They wore shirt under the
caftan and gold belts decorated with precious
stones.
In those years, women cover
their faces with tulle when
they were out.
The women in Anatolia
usually wore simpler
clothes of wool.A
Since Ottoman Empire had a vast area, there were different style of
outfits.
The men wore
shalwar, fez and
turban.
