OSHA approach

• Recent OSHA case required UCLA to:– Provide a List of facilities– Provide a Laboratory Safety Manual – Ensure PI’s complete Laboratory safety programme (applies to

visitors as well) within strict time frame– All laboratory personnel must be trained– Ensure SOP’s must in place and updated– PI’s to assessment of adequacy of PPE before starting work– Provide comprehensive auditing by H&S Team
