In 2003 DJ Azuhl alongside Cape Town based Tyrone Da Silva (DJ Eazy) and Richard Bradstreet hosted, produced and presented their own radio show on U.C.T. radio called G.H.E.T.T.O. P.I.M.P show (Giving Healing Through Teaching One Principle's Improving Mental Position). The show ran for five years and in that time Faculty of Hip Hop (also known as Hip Hop Education South Africa) was born. The Faculty has since become one of South Africa leading NGO’s in the field of Hip Hop activism initiating events like the annual Youth Film Festival, park jams, exchange programs, 75 hours Music Marathon and other community based initiatives. The Faculty was instrumental in the success of South Africa’s first Afrikaans (one of the official South African languages) Hip Hop television series, “HIP HOP.” The show featured DJ Azuhl as presenter, co-producer and researcher alongside Mr. FAT and DJ Eazy. The show enjoyed 6 seasons of airing before the tragic death of Ashley Titus, aka Mr. FAT, in 2007. The Faculty has activities that DJ Azuhl oversees and is an extension for his broader vision for the role of what Hip Hop can play for the youths of South Africa.

A draw card for B-boy events across South Africa, DJ Azuhl has also been working with Johannesburg based company, Wreckage Pro for over 5 years. This relationship has given rise to the success of two of South Africa’s biggest annual b-boy events; the 2ON2 Battles and Solo Pro’s.

Currently the official DJ for E.J Von Lyrik (one third of the legendary female outfit Godessa) and teaming up with Teba Shumba as The Dreaded Banga Sound System, DJ Azuhl one of the most sought after DJ’s. He has also teamed up with Falko Starr and DJ Eazy as part of Cape Town’s newest DJ collective, The Chief Rockers, who host a monthly event “Classics” at the legendary Mercury Live. Listeners Space is another monthly event on the Cape Town calendar hosted by his company, Platform 7 Productions, with partner Nadine Matthews.

Already enjoying a cult status and strong following, he’s series of quality mixtapes and turntablist expertise makes DJ Azuhl one of the most versatile and skilled artists Africa has ever seen.
