March for Life Update: For several years, local parishes have partnered to take high school pilgrims to the March for Life in Washington, D.C. Students travel together, pray together, and stand up for the unborn. Last year our trip was canceled because of foul weather, and that has only increased interest in the trip. We currently have 70 students who are signed up for the trip! This is wonderful and necessitates TWO buses.

We Need Your Support: Each pilgrim pays $125.00 to go on the March for Life. The remaining balance iscoveredbyparishfundraisingeffortsandsupport.InthepewsatMassyouwillfindenvelopesmarkedfor the March – please consider donating to our cause. A donation of $250.00 covers the cost of the trip for a single student. $125.00 covers the parish donation for one student or the family cost for a pilgrim who could not afford the trip. $50.00 covers the cost of registration for one student. No donation is too large and no donation is too small. Please give generously. Your donations allow this trip to take place. Donations can also be made through online giving, whether you are signed up for the service or are interested in a one-time donation. Please include “March for Life” in the “Special Intentions” box.

The ROSARY…and remembering some very special people…

December 25th is the most wonderful day of the year. We celebrate the Birth of Jesus in prayer and with pure love…literally, everything stops so that we can savor family gatherings, possibly enjoy dinner together and exchange gifts. Beautiful light displays and Christmas trees are everywhere. It’s totally a time of joy. For some however,Christmas is just plain hard to handle. PRAY for the families who have lost a loved one during the past year. Say a SPECIAL PRAYER for families who are separated from

loved ones serving in themilitary. It’s tough for theMoms,Dads andsiblings…and horrible for their children. It’s a shared experience thataffectsallfamilymembers…theyjustwanttobetogether.Locally,don’tforgetourfirstresponders…theytoo,arefortunateiftheycancelebrateChristmasDaywiththeirfamilies.PRAYforourpolicemen,ourfiremen,our medics and hospital personnel…duty calls and they are away from home. To be sure, today is Christmas…the most special day of the year. It’s the birthday of Jesus! It’s also a time of love, gratitude andthanksgiving for life itself. MERRY CHRISTMAS.Remember, you and your family are always invited to take part in our weekly Rosary for Peace, every Saturday at 4:35 p.m., just before Mass.

The SF Respect Life Group would like to invite everyone to participate in the “Gifts for Baby Jesus” programagainthisyear, whichbenefitsHeartbeatsofLickingCounty. Beginning the firstweek of January, and continuing through the entire month, please place

your gifts on the steps surrounding the crèche area. Everything will be donated to Heartbeats pregnancy center directly. They have expressed aneedfornewlypackageditemssuchas:babybottles, nipples, pacifiers, wipes, diapers, personal hygiene items (e.g., lotion, bath soap/wash, powder, creams, etc.). Of course, any baby items are useful and will be greatly appreciated. Jesus told us that whatever we do for the least of these little ones, we do it for Him. If you have any questions, please call Helen Sage at 740-349-5717.

BETHESDA HEALING MINISTRY: Jesus healed not only those with physical illnesses but also those with spiritual needs. One evening a woman of dubious repute, looking for Jesus, entered uninvited, the home of one of the religious leaders. Kneeling before Jesus, she knelt down,

washed his feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. Jesus accepted her beautiful act of love. While others were shocked by her behavior, Jesus knew the sincerity of her heart and said “Your sins are forgiven.” (Luke 7:48) That awesome gift awaits each woman seeking release from the shame and guilt of her abortion. Bethesda Healing Ministry welcomes the opportunity to support you in seeking the Sacrament of forgiveness and healing. Please call Bethesda Healing Ministryconfidentiallinesare614-309-2651or614-309-0157orvisitourwebsite at bethesdahealing.org.Be sure to “Like” us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BethesdaHealing.

Pope Francis’ Prayer Intentions for January 2017JANUARY Evangelization: Christians at the service of the challenges ofhumanity.ThatallChristiansmaybefaithfultotheLord’steachingby striving with prayer and fraternal charity to restore ecclesial communion and by collaborating to meet the challenges facing humanity.Starting in 2017, the Pope will present only one prepared prayer intention per month, rather than the two presented before this year. He plans, however, to add a second prayer intention each month related to current events or urgent needs, like disaster relief. The urgent prayer request will help mobilize prayer and action related to the urgent situation. The Apostleship of Prayer will publish these urgent prayer intentions on the website as soon as they receive them from the Vatican. See http://www.apostleshipofprayer.org/ for updates.

Spaghetti Dinner Fund Raiser – January 7th: The March for Life pilgrims will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner on January 7th after the 5:00 pm Mass. Please come to have a wonderful meal, meet our pilgrims, and join us in fellowship. Tickets will be available for pre-sale or at the door. Please contact Edward Watson for more details. From all of the pilgrims, thank you!
