The Prez Sez
What a great September meeting we had
a few weeks back! Our meetings at that
time of year are usually a bit sparser
than our winter meetings but we had
about 55 in attendance which included
about ten visitors. And the program
presentation by Dean Finnerty was ex-
cellent.
If you were at our last general meeting,
you received your invitation to the Octo-
ber 23rd Club Auction. If not, you’ll
find an invitation in this newsletter.
Please fill out the form and mail to Marv
Clemons (or send him an e-mail) so he
can have an accurate count for the din-
ner. The dinner menu sounds great and
I’m really looking forward to this annual
event. Everything we do that night
from the dinner to the silent and oral
auctions is so much fun and is a great
benefit to the club. In fact the earnings
from the auction are the main source of
revenue that funds our club throughout
the year.
Make a special note that our last three
meetings of the year are at different lo-
cations: Our Auction is Wed, Oct 23 at
the Irving Grange, the November meet-
ing is Wed, Nov 20th at the Campbell
Senior Center, and our annual X-mas
party is Wed, Dec 18th at Roaring Rapids
Pizza. I know we’re jumping around a
bit but the good news is that in 2014
we’ll be settling into our new venue at
the Vet’s club on 1626 Willamette St.
A couple of things from our last board
meeting: 1) Tony Overstake has again
volunteered to offer a rod building class
that will be held on Monday nights start-
ing sometime in November. I built a rod
under his tutelage last year and had a
great time (lots of good camaraderie,
learned a lot about rod building, and
rod turned out great). We’ll have a sign
up list at the Auction. 2) We have a
great program planned for the Novem-
ber meeting. We have a team that will
put together photos from our 2013 club
outings. If you have some photos from
fishing trips you took this last year and
would like them in the program, please
e-mail them to Maryam Peigahi and she
will get them plugged in. Look forward
to seeing you at the Auction,
Glenn
