Cleaning the canteen

One day, my classmates and I walked to school. During the first lesson, our teacher told us that we would be cleaning the canteen. The bell started to ring and we went for our recess. After we finished our brunch, we started to clean the canteen. My classmates and I helped to pick up the litter. My friend cleaned the tables.

One boy broke the bowls and plates. I asked him if he was okay. He started to cry and I asked him to stop crying. I also said I would help him and he stopped crying.

My friend and I helped him to sweep away the broken bowls and plates. My teacher walked past and saw us helping the boy. She said, “Good job, Children!”

Cleaning the canteen

One rainy day, my classmates and I were cleaning the canteen. My best friend Dania and I were wiping the tables. Sylvia was picking up the litter. Jaycee was collecting the dirty plates for the auntie to wash.

Suddenly, Jaycee accidentally broke the bowls and plates. Slyvia was shocked. All the pupils rushed forward to help Jaycee to pick up the broken bowls and plates.

Finally, the canteen was clean. Our teacher praised us for working together. We were happy because we had done a great job.

One day, it was raining heavily. Mel took shelter at a bus stop because she had no umbrella.

An old lady slipped and fell because the pavement was wet and slippery. Mel was shocked.

She went to the old lady and said,” Are you okay?” Luckily the old lady was not hurt. She helped the old lady up.

Helping a Friend

There were two friends playing happily at the park. Suddenly, they saw a frog in the pond. They became curious.

When the boy tried to catch the frog, it hopped onto another lily pad. He slipped and fell into the pond. He did not know that the ground was slippery. “Help!” he screamed.

The girl heard his loud scream so she quickly came to his rescue. The boy was wet and dirty. He was badly hurt and he cried out in pain. Finally the girl helped him get up. She used her handphone and called his parents.

A Kind Boy

One sunny day, an old lady was trying to cross the road. She was using a walking stick. There was heavy traffic on the road.

Upon seeing this, I volunteered to help. I held her arm and carried her basket. We crossed the road at the zebra crossing.

In school, my teacher commended me. She said that I was a considerate boy. Apparently, she had witnessed the whole incident as she was at a nearby bus stop.

Cleaning the classroom

One Friday afternoon, before the school holidays, our teacher told us,” We are going to clean our classroom before the start of our holidays.” My classmates and I exclaimed, “Yes!” We took the brooms and rags.

We were excited. We worked together as a team. Some of my classmates and I wiped the tables, some swept the floor and some arranged the tables and chairs neatly. Others arranged the books at the Class Library Corner and mopped the floor.

Finally, the classroom was very clean. Our teacher praised us. My classmates were tired but happy.

Endeavour’s Flying Cockroach

One Wednesday17th May 2017, Irfan from 1 Respect saw a cockroach in the parade square near the staircase to the hall.

He shouted to alert his teachers and classmates who were walking past that there was a cockroach. Unfortunately, a girl walked too close to the cockroach and frightened it. The cockroach was afraid and it ran away. It flew up into the sky. By now, everyone was aware of the flying cockroach. Everyone looked up into the sky to find the cockroach. Finally, the cockroach landed on the ground near the Primary 3 classes and Mrs Ang caught the cockroach. Mr Lim told everyone what had happened before we sang the National Anthem.

I felt that the flying cockroach wanted to fall to the ground after it became tired.

My Visit to the Singapore Zoo

On Thursday 23 March 2017, I visited the Singapore Zoo, with my classmates from 1 Integrity, my teachers and Salihan’s mother. I went there by the school bus. I went there to learn more about animals.

At the zoo, I saw the sea lion, the polar bear, the otter, the giraffe, the zebra, the racoon dog, the cheetah, the rhinoceros and the other animals. My favourite animal is the sea lion because it can catch a Frisbee.

I also watched the Splash Safari Show at 10.30 a.m. I saw the sea lion perform. It caught a Frisbee with its mouth and stood on its tail. It can balance a ball on its nose.

A boy and a girl were playing happily in a park. They saw a frog.

The boy tried to catch the frog, but he slipped and fell into the pond instead. The boy screamed for help.

The boy was wet and dirty. He cried out in pain because he was badly hurt. The girl helped him to get up.

An Incident in the park

On her way home, Jame saw a boy Sam crying. Jame wondered why the boy was crying. She asked him what had happened.

Sam was very worried because he had lost his wallet, so Jame helped to look for it. Jame found his wallet under a tree.

Jame returned it to Sam. He was relieved and he felt grateful. He thanked Jame.

Spring Cleaning

One morning, Tristen’s parents told Tristen to clean the house with them. It was dirty and dusty. They would be celebrating Chinese New Year soon.

Tristen was unwilling to do the cleaning but his parents insisted that he helped. He used the feather duster to dust the photograph frame and the furniture unwillingly.

When Tristen was dusting the shelf, he accidentally brushed against a vase. He swept it onto the ground. It broke into many pieces. He quickly ran to apologise to his parents.

Cleaning the canteen

The canteen was very dirty so Zovier’s classmates picked up the litter. His classmates tried to clean the canteen by wiping the tables and returning the used bowls and plates.

Suddenly, a boy broke some bowls and plates. He was so careless. Everything was broken. His classmates were very shocked and they had to clean up again. “Next time, you must be more careful,” Zovier told the boy.

After they worked together to help to clean the canteen, their teacher praised them. She was happy that they could work well together and help one another.

One rainy evening, an old lady Auntie May boarded a bus, feeling tired, cold and wet. She was running after the bus, carrying a heavy bag.

Suddenly, a person ran across the road and the bus stopped. Auntie May lost her balance and fell. She was hurt. Everyone in the bus felt shocked. They turned and asked, “Are you alright?”

A young man, Ignatius helped Auntie May to pick up the groceries. Auntie May felt happy and thanked the young man for helping her. She felt grateful towards him.

One windy Saturday morning, an old lady Auntie Lucy, was getting into the bus to go home. She had just finished buying her groceries. She was carrying a bag packed with food. It was heavy and she was feeling tired.

The bus stopped suddenly. Auntie Lucy lost her balance and fell. The other passengers gasped, “Ah!” They were shocked. They turned and looked at her.

Then a young man came forward to ask, “Are you okay?” This young man was wearing a blue T-shirt. He is Mr Lim. He helped to pick up all the groceries and put them back into the bag. Auntie Lucy felt grateful to him for his help and said, “Thank you for your help.”

Suddenly Auntie Lim stepped on a plastic bag, slipped and fell with a loud thud.

A young man helped Auntie Lim to pick up her things. He helped her to a seat. Auntie Lim thanked him.

One rainy day, Nora took shelter at the bus stop because she did not have an umbrella and it started to rain. She was on her way to her friend’s house. She felt cold.

Suddenly, Nora heard a scream and she turned to see what was wrong. She saw Auntie Chen who was running to the bus stop. The pavement was wet and slippery, so she slipped and fell. She screamed in pain. Nora was shocked. Without wasting a minute, she rushed to the old lady. Luckily she was not hurt.

Nora felt sorry for her and helped her up to her feet. Auntie Chen thanked Nora for her help profusely.

Making my Ice-cream Sundae

On Wednesday 19 April 2017, I made an ice-cream sundae in the school canteen. This was what I did:

1. Wash my hands before starting to make the ice-cream sundae. 2. Rinse the plastic cup and spoon. 3. Get 1 scoop of chocolate Nestle Neapolitan ice cream.

Scoop some ice cream into the cup. 4. Sprinkle some chocolate rice on top of the ice cream. 5. Put some Honeystar cereals and KoKo Krunch on top of

the chocolate rice.

The sundae was done. I ate it and it was yummy.

My egg is made of plastic. It is oval in shape and orange in

Spring Cleaning

One morning, my brother Noel and I were going to clean the house. Chinese New Year was coming and I felt excited. Noel was not happy to clean the house because it was so boring.

Noel was unwilling to dust the furniture. He was holding a feather duster but he was not dusting. He felt angry.

Then he accidentally brushed against a vase and broke the vase. CRASH! He was frightened. Our parents came into the room and they saw what happened. He admitted that he broke the vase. Our mother forgave him.

On Friday 31 March 2017, I made a sandwich in class. This was what I did:

1. Get 2 slices of bread. 2. Spread butter and jam on the bread. 3. Put the 2 slices of bread together. 4. Get a ziplock bag from Miss Lim.

The sandwich was done. I ate it and it was yummy.

One hot Friday, Evans and Belle were playing at the park. Evans saw a frog. He wanted to catch the frog.

Evans did not know the ground was slippery. He slipped and fell into the pond. Evans screamed for help!

Belle asked,” Are you okay?” Evans was soaking wet and dirty. He cried out in pain. Belle helped him up and brought him home to shower. She put a plaster on his wound.

A Kind Boy

Last Monday morning, Azman was going to school when he saw an old lady, Auntie Siti with her walking stick. At that time, there were many vehicles on the road. Azman wanted to help Auntie Siti to cross the road at the zebra crossing.

Azman volunteered to help Auntie Siti and held her arm. He offered to carry her basket while crossing the road. Azman’s teacher, Mrs Raja Gopal saw all these.

In school, Mrs Raja Gopal shared this incident with the whole class. She said that Azman was kind and he helped an old lady to cross the road on his way to school. All his classmates clapped for him. Azman was glad he had done a good deed.

It was a hot Friday afternoon. John was walking home from school. John saw an old lady and she was using a walking stick. She also carried a heavy basket.

John volunteered to help her. John held her arm and carried her basket. They crossed the road safely. His teacher, Mrs Sam, saw them.

The next day, his teacher Mrs Sam shared with his classmates what she had witnessed. She praised him for being a considerate boy and pinned a badge on his shirt.

Spring Cleaning

One fine afternoon, when Max and his brother came back from school, their parents told them that Chinese New Year was coming soon. “Let’s clean our dirty and dusty house!” exclaimed their father. Their father gave them some feather dusters and brooms.

A while later, they started spring cleaning. Max’s family was happy but he was not. He would have to dust the furniture with a feather duster. He dusted a photograph frame unwillingly.

All of a sudden, Max brushed against a cupboard and broke a cup accidentally. Their parents heard a loud crashing sound coming from the kitchen. They dashed into the kitchen. They caught sight of thousands of tiny broken pieces of glass, scattered on the floor. “What have you done?” shouted his parents. Max apologised to his parents.

An Incident in the park

One sunny afternoon. Megen was going home from school when she saw a boy crying. Megen wondered what had happened to the boy. Megen was very worried about the boy, so she went to the boy and asked him why he was crying. The boy told her that he had lost his wallet.

Megen felt sorry for the boy, so she helped him to look for his wallet. They looked everywhere but could not find his wallet. Finally, Megen found his wallet under a tree.

The boy’s wallet was found. He was relieved and grateful. He thanked Megen for her help. Megen was glad that she had done a good deed.
