Additional InformationCleaningThe term cleaning refers to the initial cleaning of newly installed surfaces or to the refurbish-ment of old, used surfaces.Cleaners can be broadly divided into three different categories: acid based, alkali based and solvent based. Different types of cleaners are needed for different types of dirt:Acid based cleaners are required for anorganic dirt, such as cement residues, mortar, lime-scale, rust and rust discoloration, etc.Alkali based cleaners are required for organic dirt, such as regular dirt, grease and oil, care product residues, light wax films, etc.Solvent based cleaners are used for heavy duty organic dirt, such as paint, wax, tar, adhe-sives, mineral oil, etc.

ProtectingThe term protecting refers to treatments such as impregnators and sealants, which are de-signed to prevent dirt from penetrating into the surface. These protective treatments come in many variations, including water and oil repellent effects, water repelling effects, colour inten-sifying, non-layer forming and layer forming, etc.Protective treatments can only be applied to clean and completely dry surfaces. The humidity of the surface to be treated can be determined with the appropriate equipment, and it must not exceed three percent.

Please note: the above times may be significantly extended, depending on local conditions (seasons, air humidity, room temperature, ventilation, materials used etc.).

MaintainingThe term maintaining refers to the every-day cleaning carried out by the home owner.Avoid using leeching or otherwise aggressive products for regular maintenance as this will harm the effectiveness of the protective treatment or even damage the surface. Lithofin has developed appropriate maintenance products for each application, which are carefully mat-ched to the protective treatments.
