Using your donations we will be able to offer an even i bigger and better show next summer. (Yes, this is available for a slight charge but would make whole lake view- i ing possible.) i iii iii i i 1 i i Good times had at Oktoberfest. 75 cottage owners and guests enjoyed a beautiful fall day at Carpies to celebrate the end ofthe summer season. Some came by boat and many by car to share a meal with friends, renew acquaintances, and meet neighbors. German beer, other German drinks and a German buffet - (from Moonwinks) sated the palates of those attending. Thanks to Cheryl Free- born for all her hard work on this event. Food Pantry Collection Thanks to your generosity we were able to deliver a pick-up truck and a car load of items to the Cuba Food Bank. The paper products, laundry detergent, diapers and personal care items are not able to be pur- chased by those in need. All items were greatly appreciated. Summer Family Party Party organizers, Dan Davison and Janice Cobl.€- ,- were-disap- pointed that the August Summer Family Party had to be cancelled. At the deadline for order- ing food and beverages there were not enough reservations to go ahead. They are hoping that this event will be held in 2014 · Chicken Bar- B-Q deemed a success Chicken Bar-B-Q was a success for the Cuba Ambulance Corp. Under the chair- manship of Paula Colburn, CLCOA was able to make a donation of $2000.00 to- ward the purchase of defibrillators. These m achmes enable fIie airibula-nce to com- municate with the hospital immediately. 200 chicken dinners were sold out by 2 pm. Thanks to everyone who purchased dinners and to those who worked. PERMITS PERMITS PERMITS PLAN AHEAD

Will you be making any major changes to your current structure? Considering new construction? Or improving your lot. A building permit is REQUIRED from the district secretary and the township you reside in (Cuba or Ischua) before this work begins.

Will you be working on your breakwall? Certain dock configurations? Lake bed work? A building per­mit is REQUIRED from the DEC (716-372-0645) before construction begins. This time frame is usually 4-6 weeks for processing.

Ifyou are unsure-contact Scott Barrey, District Lake Manager, (585)474-3960 before you begin any improvements.

Annual Meeting

Cottage Owners met at the Yacht Club on July 9 for the annual meeting. Officer Galatio and Inga, of the Cuba Police Department, gave an informative demonstration on how an ex­plosive sniffing dog works. Information of interest to the members was shared, election of officers was held and new directors were in­troduced. Elected as officers for 2013-2014 are: President: Mary Lindquist 1st Vice-President: Robert Riggs 2nd Vice-President: Jeanine Rose Secretary: Mary Raymond Treasurer: Barbara Utter New Directors: Sandra Keenan, Carol Place, Kristin Lindhome, and Risa Michienzi
