1939. C.P. Colvin and Anne Colvin are

her parents. She studied at Booker T.

Washington High School. Claudette was also a member

in the NAACP

HEROIC EVENTo WHEN- March 2, 1955o WHERE- Montgomery, Alabama o EVENT- One day Claudette was sitting in a seat in

the middle of the bus. This event had happened nine months before Rosa Parks's. The bus driver told Claudette to get up and go to different seat for a white passenger and she refused. She was actually the first black lady to refuse to give up her seat. So she was arrested at only 15 years old.Claudetta Colvin wanted to argue against after the event , but the NAACP turned it down because she later on got pregnant and was still a teenager.

I knew then and I know now that, when it comes to justice, there is no easy way to get it. You can’t sugarcoat it. You have to take a stand and say, 'This is not right.' And I did."

Why She Is A Hero-Claudette Colvin became a hero at 15 years old. She decided to make a brave decision and take a stand because she had rights just like everybody else. When she stayed in her seat after she was asked to move she was finally saying something others wouldn't . Even though Claudette couldn't actually start the bus boycott because of her young age and pregnancy. She still tried her best to make it happen and helped in other ways when the boycott started because of Rosa Parks she helped in court for the boycott and outside of it. Claudette might not have been recognized the way Rosa Parks was,but she is still a her because she seated and stood up for her rights.
