Under the expert leadership of a pro guide and local crew explore

a coastline fringed by tropical islands on our sturdy motorized 11

meter Arab dhow. Sea kayak or sail up wide coastal river mouths

teeming with red listed bird species and pristine mangrove forests. Snorkel off

deserted white sandbanks and into turquoise sea, and

sleep in mobile eco camps on uninhabited tropical islands.

Our chef conjures up the freshest of seafood and traditional

cuisine over an open fire under island stars leaving you free to

explore, contemplate and relax. All tailor made

It’s slow paced and charming. The Quirimbas are a string

of 32 tropical islands in northern Mozambique, and are

considered one of the most unspoilt destinations left in

Africa today. Pristine sandy beaches, thick mangrove

forests, coral tropical islands and a wild aquatic world make

up this remote region.

Open fire dinners, snorkeling until your fingertips

wrinkle, guided walks and for the birders amongst you,

fish eagles, crab plovers and herons are amongst a full

list of rare feathered companions! Imagine the history

contained in the ancient buildings of Ibo Island. Kayak

through clear calm water into wild frontiers or simply sit

back and relax under dhow sail.

Day 2: Day trip to nearby Macaloe Island or explore the mainland coastline. Overnight

Day 3: Dhow sail to beautiful Ulumbwa Estuary via uninhabited Rolas Island -

overnight mobile eco camp

Day 4: Sail to the southern tip of Matemo Island – overnight mobile eco camp

Day 5: Sail to Ibo Island. Arrive late afternoon. Check in to Ibo Island Lodge

Days 6-7: Explore magical Ibo Island – historical and cultural tours included &

optional activities.

Day 8: Light aircraft transfer from Ibo Island to Pemba

All meals, transfers, transport and mobile camp equipment is included.

aircraft or road transfers can get you to your

start or end point and you will fly in and

out of Pemba International airport. We are

MOBILE DHOW SAFARIS ECO CAMPS

Island slumberGuests sleep in mobile safari style 3m

by 3m walk in dome tents with fitted

ground sheet, insect screen, safari style

stretcher beds with 2 inch high density

foam mattresses, shower and beach

towels and all linen. Kids are

accommodated in 2,4m by 2,4 m tents

with stretcher beds, towels and linen.

Fully guidedThe mobile safari is led by one of our

English speaking professional guides,

with a local Mozambican dhow skipper

and crew.

Further service is provided with a waiter, housekeeper and chef. Our

motorised traditional dhow with local experienced skipper and crew

will be at your disposal for day trips, picnics and explorations to other

close by islands and mainland villages.

Dependent on your interests double sea kayaks can be supplied for

paddling or exploring and our guides are also pro canoe / kayak

guides with masses of experience in these waters. The region plays

host to a range of birdlife; storks, fish eagles, mangrove kingfisher,

plovers, Madagascar Pratincoles to name but a few!

Wine and dine meA 5m by 5m dining and tent accommodates guests for meals

which are either served sit down table cloth style or more relaxed

around the fire with your toes in the sand. Yours to decide each day.
